2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 hotstuff (3249) - Indiana, USA - MAY 15, 2004
Bottle. Poured a medium sized creamy and smooth white head that contained fine-medium sized bubbles. Fast rising carbonation, transparent and a yellow-gold hue. The aroma was malty, sweet and some grassy notes. The flavor was malt, hops and a little fruit flavor. The mouthfeel was a little tingly and the texture was light. The lacing was very sparse.

Hoppy scent, straw in colour, small white head. Good hops taste, nicely bitter. Pleasant surprise that such a macro would be good enough for average.

Pours pale yellow into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Sweet malt and alcohol aromas. Crisp and dry upfront with lasting marshmallow and alcohol finish. Not a lot going on but moreish.
1.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Nate (3093) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 10, 2002
Standard macro aroma, but with a little more malty, citrusy sweetness. No head. Light straw color. High fizziness and light watery body. Pretty bland in taste. Bitter adjunct finish and after. Doesn’t have much to offer in taste or enjoyment.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 cheap (2965) - Quiptown & Central Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 17, 2007
Twist off cap for a decent cooked bread yeasty aroma. In glass some permanent hair treatment smells arise, but it is still rather clean. Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager color and appearance. Good tingly carbonation greets the palate. The taste is clean and fun with little offensive impressions, if any. Almost as tasty as many ’wheat’ beers that I have had in the past. Some hop bitterness begins to build thru the session but for the most part it is well controlled. Finishes with a mildly processed lager attribute. Overall not bad. Not as good as North Country Northern Lite. On par with Rivertowne Golden Mountie and certainly much better than Kochs Golden Anniversary Beer.

(bottle - 11.5 oz) Pale golden color with a fizzy white head. Aroma smells like normal Labatt. Dry and grassy with some corn, hops, and metal flake. Flavor is smooth and grainy with a little hop bitterness and a dry grain and malt finish. Not a bad session beer.

This is an ale, but tastes like it’s been ’lagerized’ because it’s hard to tell from ordinary Labatt’s. This is pretty drinkable stuff and goes down easy!
