1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Bottle: used to enjoy this one over your typical Bud, back when I thought it was cool to be different. I still think this is a better beer than Bud, but that doesn’t make it a good beer. Relatively vapid... metallic grains, hay, slight sweet pilsner malts, super sharp carbonation. Watery in every sense.

Labatt Blue bills itself as ’Canadian Pilsener’ and the malt base may be on par for a pilsner but the hop character is inadequate. The beer is sweet and clean. There’s nothing to complain about and nothing remarkable either.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Straight from it. The aroma has sweet corn. The taste is sweet, biscuit, corn. Not awful but really sweet and bready.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear, golden yellow, Muted aroma witha a classic hay and noble hops aroma with some sweet corn. On the palate this is a watery brew with a good amount of carbonation and no finish. I guess its best quality is that it isn’t overly offensive.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottled clear golden with white head. Smooth clear refreshing taste of balanced hops and malt throughout. My go to for a simple consistent palate cleaner. Nothing fancy but the best mass produced Canadian product.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
DATE TASTED: November 23, 2013... GLASSWARE: Wychwood pint... OCCASION: PSU vs. Nebraska--a good reason for some EXTRA blue!... APPEARANCE: tawny clear straw golden body with swift bubbles that simmer to an uneven white,, filmy head--looks a bit weak... AROMA: thin, crisply corny malt pop with a slightly beefy afterscent; medicinal, almost band-aid-like vapor; then, nondescript... PALATE: THIN; Corona-esque mouthfeel; doesn’t linger anywhere; gassy and bubbly...TASTE: THIN, woody, somewhat floral esters mesh with a 40-ounce malt to produce a drinkable, albeit pedestrian lager flavor...OVERALL: revisiting a beer I had over fifteen years ago, the experience is much shorter than the excitement I felt holding a 24-ounce tall back then; cookie-cutter and mouth-rinsing, with little to suggest a nuance...
