It had been years since Iíve had it, so I bought a twelver on impulse (several dollars cheaper than the other imports/micros). I remember enjoying Labatt Blue more in the past than right now. Iíd have to say that, for me, it now falls somewhere only slightly above other typical North American macros like Bud or Miller. Looks like íem, smells like íem, tastes like íem, but finishes a little more agreeably. This would be a good "first step" beer for a Bud or Miller drinker who finally feels like exploring a little.

A session beer that is your typical lager, very drinkable. Not bad for a macro brew.

Aroma of sweet corn. Taste is neutral but smooth. Not bad. Typical stuff. Nothing to write home about

Bottle. Itís a clear, golden colored beer topped by a minimal sized white head. Malty-sweet aroma with fruityness and a hint of hay. Itís thin to medium bodied and softly carbonated, with hints of bitterness. Pale malts, generic fruits and some hay in the flavor, with a touch of yellow apples in the rather short finish. Sort of quenching, but not very good this one. 150612

Big fuckin 24oz can (from the Jewel... after work... and I wanted something cold not made by Sam Adams or Miller). Okay, so many years ago, this was my favorite beer (besides Guinness) and I drank a shit ton of it (late 80s early-mid 90s, before craft beer developed into the adventure it is today). But there was no RateBeer back then and I havenít drank of these in decades (Molson Canadian became my favorite cheap hockey-watching beer of choice by 1996) so yeah. Iím rating it today for the first time. Most of the points are for appearance and body. It tastes like most other cheap adjunct-laden lagers and is fine if all you want is a watery beer to drink while watching a game or grilling. But nothing interesting or different than most ípale lagersí. Pale straw yellow, white head, decent retention, grainy, corny, goes down like a $5 hooker: quick and practical. Okay. I think the stout I put in the freezer to chill is ready, so Iíll do a real rating here shortly. Yay Canada.

clear pale golden with a small white head. faint corn-cereal notes. Fizzy; thin and watery with a overlight body, if at all. Example of yellow fizz.

bottled - skunky aroma. Very pale golden color. Taste isnít terrible, though. Not a bad beer to drink all night at the bar but definitely nothing special.

Can. Light and easy. At a football game with some old friends. Hits the spot. Nothing special but, not the worst. Big bite on the finish.
