From a sampler pack. The brown ale pours nice and brown, a medium tan head. The aroma is nice sweet malts. The flavor is exactly what the aroma promises. The beer has a surprising amount of body. the taste, lingers a bit, and a longer finish. But a nice brown ale.

Very very nutty aroma, but it’s sprinkled over a very sweet, pretty weak malt aroma. Like hazelnut dumped into a pint of Harp. The alcohol is surprisingly conspicuous here.
Clear glassy brick red color, with a finger of decent white head. Looks like a nice amber.
The flavor of an English ale (sugars, toffee sweetness), but with that very incongruous hazelnut additive. It’s basically like an ale with a shot of hazelnut; it’s just weird.
Feels slick but with a little dustiness. Actually really good for style. It’s not altogether unpleasant, but it’s a weak sister. It’s like a sweet Cafe American.

My twist off bottle specifically says; labatt brewers collection brown ale. Almost smells like a mild imerial stout. Nice dark clearish brown red tinge. Friendly head, quite creamy lookin. Some decent amount of dark beer roasty-ness in there without being rude. Smotth and interesting. Getting fun , actually. Would buy a six pack of this. Good friendly overall dark beer experience. Finish has no real ill attributes.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 jb (1606) - Rochester, New York, USA - OCT 1, 2011
This might be contract brewed by Genny - Rochester. Part of a mixed case. ’Brewers Collection Limited Edition’. The usual uninspired brown. It looked brown, tasted brown, and should have been drank in a wrapping of a brown sack.
