1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 27, 2010
Big props to Josh for getting us into the elusive club! Cabbage is strong in the nose. Clear golden body is topped by a low, partial cover of head. Flavour follows the aroma. Light body moderate carbonation. I really have nothing more to say about this beer. Bottle sampled with Oakes.
0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 Savvy1982 (1453) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 10, 2010
Bottle. Pours clear yellow, and almost flat, very little in the way of carbonation, a scant white head appears with aggressive pouring, but no head remains, and there is scarcely any apparent carbonation. Very poor lacing. Nose is very soft, apples and dry earth, mild corny mass-production aroma, very slightly unpleasant, but no particular note that I can pin down that makes me feel so. Palate is very soft again, watery, and man, this beer is almost flat... mild mega-corporation corn, no hops, sweetness comes in the finish. Not sure what I was expecting with this, but damn... maybe a good thing this stuff is almost impossible to find.
1.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 dkazuk (248) - winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - FEB 24, 2008
341ml bottle.
Pours a very pale bubbly yellow with a medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is grainy, bready and sour with a little bit of banana. The flavour is thin and watery finishing with rough hops and a narrow bitterness. Not much aftertaste or feel to it. Cheap beer, what can I say.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 pootzboy (1312) - Hawgville, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 10, 2007
Bottle: Part of a trade but have chugged this many times in pubs and parties in Dauphin and Brandon.
The Quintessential Manitoba "off-sales" beer...the beer of country cruising and fishing....more of these bottles and cans dot the Man. landscape than any other beer.
Deep yellow, fizzy, light grainy-husk smells..sweet, grainy taste, stale hops, a tad harsh with a fast finish.
The hop bite most brewers hope for is replaced by an unaged harshness to this cheap-assed drink....ot no idea why this brand survived in Man. and white seal tanked.
1.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 DuffMan (4429) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 1, 2007
Single can purchase from Sherbrooke Liquor store in Edmonton. The can states it is "naturally aged" (as opposed to all of those artificially aged beers), which I think may be a reference to how long this crap remains sitting in the store unpurchased. Pale straw yellow, big bubbly head with aromas of stinky wet dishrag. Featureless pale macro palate, on the sweet side, harsh finish. A step below Blue even.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 sinkhole (258) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 24, 2006
Ever had Labatt Blue? Then you’ve had this as well. Virtually an identical pale lager, light golden yellow in appearance, with a standard big business flavour. It does not stand out from other lagers, but it doesn’t offend either.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Hooker (465) - Coquitlam, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 11, 2004
Your typical big box brewery. just a regional name for the national brand. had this in Winnipeg in ’85 when I didn’t know any better. clear yellow in colour. fizzy lager/pilsener clean taste with nothing distinctive.

Gold colour. Bubbly. Maintains a decent thin white head. Macro-corn aroma. Of course almost tasteless, but in a smooth way (har-har). Some sweetness but forgetable other than as a cold fast-food chaser.
