2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 ShamRock (20) - Rochester, USA - MAR 10, 2008
I drink a lot of labatt Blue and Ice so I will compare it to those. It was OK but kinda weird. I could taste the honey flavor but it was sort of an afterthought. It has a bitter and sweet taste to it. The thing about Labatt beers is that they look the exact same on the way out as they do on the way in. This beers appearance was much the same.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 Metalchopz (1429) - Quebec, CANADA - DEC 5, 2011
Originally rated December 2005. I think I paid $12 for this twelver when it came out last summer. This bottle I am testing is from that case... 5 months after. Nice, still good. Pours a golden-amber colour with a decent white creamy-foam head. This one has medium retention, but no lacing. The nose is good, with malt and some honey in the background. Boring thin body. The taste is a dissapointment to the aromas. Very smooth, with light malt in the beginning heading into the corn finish that the normal Labatt Genuine Draft has. Much prefer the leader of this honey lager trend... Lakeport Honey.

Bottle received from Headbanger. Pours clear and sparkling gold with a small, rocky white head, low retention with light lacing. Aroma is average malt (straw, hay, meal), light hops (spicy), average esters (fruity) with notes of honey and corn. Flavor is average malt (hay, straw, bread), light hops (spicy), average esters (fruity) with notes of honey and vegetable. Light body, low warmth and creaminess, high carbonation, and a dry finish.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 jb (1607) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 2, 2009
Decent looking, really, near amber, thick white head that starts taking on a rocky appearance. Grainy and a bit syrupy in the nose. Light watery palate but not bad, just not much going on.
Thanks for the trade Ron!

Slightly watery but a fine summer afternoon beer. Honey and a small malt taste.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 RSRIZZO (1683) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAY 9, 2009
(Bottle courtesy of Headbanger) - Color is deep gold with good carbonation and a small white head. Aroma is a light sweet scent. Taste is light and sweet. Stating with a light body it goes down smooth and easy. Finish is a light sweet taste with a touch of malt. In the after taste the sweet turns to a slightly dry honey taste. This is a well done honey, its easy an easy clean drinking brew and one of the best I’ve had from Labatt. I do not understand why RateBeer has it listed as a Dark Lager, it not dark in any way.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 coldbrewky (1165) - Saugerties, New York, USA - APR 11, 2009
First off how do bees make honey in Canada? It’s the great Northern Frozen Wasteland for Pete’s sake! While I can’t blame my non beer drinking wife for bringing this home from her travels for me along with a slew of other brews, I wonder why I actually drank it with an attitude of rating. I mean, was I actually thinking that this would be something out of the ordinarry that would be the next new Orval? No. Would I drink this drivel again? No. Is it worth your time reading this, I dont care.

ok, we be slummin today!!!
got to try all sorts of crap today at the inlaws!
well this was mediocre. lifeless, and noring, with a touch of some malt. lawnmower beer. HOney beers are a gimmick. i think the brewer just uses it to color the beer, for my taste it doesnt do anything for the flavor. Earlier Rating: 1/27/2008 Total Score: 1.2 very sweet beer. i can actually taste the honey, and not much else. Quite passable, not very enjoyable.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Headbanger (2134) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - APR 5, 2009
UPDATED: APR 6, 2009 11.5 oz bottle 4/5/09-Pours a medium golden with a decent head. Aroma of grains and grass. Taste is of the same with some honey thrown in. This light bodied brew is very basic with nothng to write home about.

8-12-08. Bottle. Pours dark gold with a fizzy head. Smells of sour malt and straw. Tastes of straw and honey, some corn. Sweet and sour. Not impressed.
