1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 tupalev (2708) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 3, 2005
Bottle shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry and gregclow - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pale yellow. Some alcohol and grain in aroma. Strong cheap white wine Labatt taste. More alcohol and grain. Wow, this is truly awful, but seems to have a lot going on compared to corona. Yeck.
1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 GregClow (2645) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 30, 2005
Bottle shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry and tupalev - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pale gold with a small white head - actually looked OK for the style. Mild aroma with some sweetness and the ubiquitous cheap white wine character that I get off of most Labatt products. Flavour is bland, sweet and grainy, with more crappy wine notes. Finish is harsher than it should be - seemed more like a 7% or 8% beer than a 5.6%. Bleh.

Bottle (341ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow and Tupalev, bottle courtesy of me and LCBO singles bin. Poured pale clear gold, quick diminishing almost white average foamy head. Not much aroma at all - sugary, some stale "hops" and grain, gets typically vegetal on warming. Tasted flat, sugary sweet, alcohol was noticeable (plonky wine taste), a bit wheaty and a pretty strong chemical aftertaste. Mouthfeel harsh and flat, with chemicals: yum. Overall thin, harsh, boring, sugary - another doozy from the big "L".

I love Blue. It’s my favortie pale lager yet this seems to have less taste and flavor than Labatt’s namesake. Looks like a typical pale lager, golden yellow and clear. Mild and watery in mu opinion. Decent "Ice" beer yet nothing very good at all
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 jerc (5444) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 8, 2005
Can. Golden yellow with a big fluffy white head that fades away entirely. Chemically alcohol aroma, slightly sweet. Flavour is fairly sweet and surprisingly clean at cold temperatures. Bland. Mild sweet malt and alcohol. Average palate, touch thin. Meh. was 300th Ontario rating prior to some shifts in province allocation.

Mild sweet aroma does little to attract or entice. Clear golden body with huge white head that recedes rapidly to a partial cover. Vaguely sweet flavour has some apple character but flavour id generally low. Light body with crisp, strong carbonation but watery texture. Bottle. Entered from notes.

Oh the ’Ice Wars’ I do not remember them fondly. The colder the better as to not taste this beer too much.
