5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 labattfreak (58) - Coldwater, Michigan, USA - JAN 19, 2004
After looking in about a million different stores, I finally found my Labatt Ice. It was smooth going down, and it had the sweet, heavenly taste that only Labatt's can offer. Leave it to Labatt's to make an awesome ice beer. Heaven in a brown bottle!
2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Turtboy (120) - Lucasville, Ohio, USA - JAN 12, 2004
Not a bad Ice beer. A little light tasting for my palate, but a good beer all the same.
0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JAN 10, 2004
750 ml can, chilled to within 40 degrees of the outdoor temperature -- perfect! I'm giving it a point for the cool black blackground and the nice in-your-face graphics. I dunno, for some reason it feels good in the hand too. Reverie for college? Pours fairly standard medium golden, with one of the largest but least stable heads I've ever seen, rather reminiscent of Dick Cheney's. Stale, old-wet-papers that have dried in hundred-degree heat and been pissed on by a Natty-Light drinking drunk odor. Initial sweet corn syrup flavor provides some bearability as a brackish ditchwater presence takes over. Stale, sour ending. Another winner from Labatt. Sadly the last from this paragon of Canadian brewing that is readily available in VT. MartinT, I so hope you are rounding up rarities for my next trip North!
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 rauchbier (3135) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - DEC 29, 2003
Bottle. UK version is 5% abv. Gold, thin white head and harsh condition. Starchy malt in the nose, sweet but nastily bitter in the mouth and mercifully short and dry in the finish.
2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Bainer (45) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 20, 2003
Don't judge a book by it's cover. This attractive beer is dispicably musty. Taste is off-putting and foul. Can be consumed in a matter of life or death.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 dprior (118) - Somerville, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 19, 2003
Don't drink this beer if you're looking for an enjoyable beer drinking experience. This is the beer you drink with your buddies while watching the game. Preferably in baseball season (a little too light for thos January football games). A sour/flat smell and appearance. Leave it in the bottle. I gave it a few extra overall points for added alcohol (for an american standard beer anyway).
1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 vwsteggie (684) - Paxton, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 17, 2003
Has a clear golden color with some carbonation and sour/tinny malt smell. Taste is much like the smell, sour/tinny, and finishes with a pretty good crispness. Overall this would be a pretty good summer beer, but now with the first day of winter next week, it does not hit the spot.
0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 crazyvin (1536) - New York, USA - NOV 10, 2003
Not much to this american standard. All it had going for it was its smooth flavor. Aroma was part malty and part skunky. did they even add hops?
