Bottle. Aroma light dark malt, very faint. Poured a dark brown, light tan bubbly cap. Flavor was light, it had flashes of malt but not much. Palate was thin and light, kind of a bummer. Not sure why I was expecting different but oh well.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2008 Brewed in Canada..... Pours a dark brown color with a super thin off white head. Aroma of corn and malts. Taste of malts and not much else. This is a terrible example of a porter, wartery, thin, lack of taste and smell. They should be ashamed for putting this product out on the market.

Bottle. John Labatt Signature Porter. Faint malty aroma. Brownish black body, little head. Watery, with bare hints of porter character. Not a winner.

12oz bottle poured into glass. Dark blackish amber color with a yellowish cream colored head. No strong smell, kind of disappointing there. Thin feel on the palate, and lacking malt in the flavor. A non distinctive porter that tastes like it is mass produced. In terms of darker beers really easy to pound em. Overall not the worst attempt for Labatt but much room for improvement.

Looks like Coca-Cola; some fizz but no head. No way on this planet is this a porter. Thin and crisp with very little flavor and no aroma. At best this is a dark lager, and not a very good one.

Pours like cola. Aroma is corny and sickly sweet. Flavor very very sweet and watery. Tastes like water with brown sugar mixed in. Not good. Tastes a bit flat after initial carbonation.

less malty than expected, kinda fizzy, slightly thin, still drinkable enough for social

’’LABATS PORTER S6L4F3T6013 My twist off bottle label says John Labatt Signature Porter. Nice malty or carob aroma. Impressive pour for a cheap mysterious beer. Very dark with an initially creamy head which goes almost rocky after the pour! Some hints of alky but overall the taste is well behaved and friendly. Roasty porter with a slight labats background. Good carbonation for a porter. Not bad, perhaps there is some choco in the flavor too. A tad thin for a porter, just barely. Is not offensive, yet retains a nice dark beer attribute. Finish reminds me of many dark American lagers, well behaved, courteous and gentlemanlike with southern manners. ’’
