1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 MrManning (1942) - London, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 29, 2006
Brewed in London, but not available here, like so many other Labatt products. Spills an iced tea dark. Head is creamed beige. Minute lace. Aromas are brown sugar, slightly burnt malt, old hops, pepsi. Pretty sweet for a porter, at least sweet for a porter with nothing to balance it out. It’s mainly sweet, watery, corny, malty water. Finishes thin, and awfully wuick for a porter. But better than blue, or wildcatt, or most anytying Labatt has their name on. That’s not saying too much unfortunately.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Roli (404) - laval, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 4, 2006
Dark color, thin beige head. Sweet porter, malt and sugar, a lot of sugar. Ain’t the worst off labatt, but I will never buy one again... its so hard to find anyway.

Bottle. Black color and beige head. Not much aroma for this beer, light malt. Taste remind me of a mix between a Guiness and a cider. Weird taste for a Porter but, the most tasty beer from Labatt.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 blankboy (4285) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 5, 2005
Bottle. I literally did a double take one day while browsing through a Quebec dépanneur and saw six-packs of this beer. I had no idea Labatt even made this. Well I had to buy a pack for me and my friends to sample. It pours black with a large diminishing light-brown head. Aroma of sweet malt and nothing else, no coffee, no chocolate, no hops. Smells nothing like a Porter. Flavour is sweet (but thankfully not too sweet) and very watery, kind of like a flat Cola. It’s enjoyable and there’s nothing really wrong with it except to say that it’s quite bland. Despite everything it’s probably one of the best Labatt products.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jerc (5444) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 29, 2005
Black ruby tinged body, small thin khaki head. Sweet candyish malt aroma. Flavour is very sweet malt. Not really getting the cola profile others found, but I can see where they might say it. Muted malt it vaguely reminds me of the Sleeman porter but blander and much sweeter. Average macro palate is slightly undercarbonated which is probably why it scores lower but its not really anyworse than many others. The beer is pretty mediocre, but I think it slaked a thirst on a hot day and thus endeared itself to me more than it might on other occassions. Intriguing coming from Labatt.

I thought that they retired this one. Found this a few years ago in Quebec at a gas station. An okay beer for Labatt, a generally sweet porter, thin and drying.
