Didn’t even know this existed. Damn good looking macro beer. Thin head. Malt smell. Extremely sweet and suggary. Way too suggary.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Firemoose15 (565) - Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 11, 2008
Bottle. Aroma light dark malt, very faint. Poured a dark brown, light tan bubbly cap. Flavor was light, it had flashes of malt but not much. Palate was thin and light, kind of a bummer. Not sure why I was expecting different but oh well.

Pours dark brown with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aromas of light coffee, and chocolate. Watery all around with a hint of toffee and chocolate. Not much depth. A watery porter indeed.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 WakeandBake (549) - Greenville, Michigan, USA - FEB 28, 2009
Bottle. A dark reddish brown color pour with a thin off white head. Aroma is a sweet dark burnt malt with a touch of cooked vegetables.Flavor is way too sweet, chocolate, faint coffee and an odd lactose note, thin body with an odd slightly metallic aftertaste, not a very good porter at all.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 dp (548) - uniontown, Ohio, USA - MAR 29, 2009
Signature porter, had a faint aroma of a porter, reminded me more of a black and tan, actually thinner than a b & t, only had 4 in the variety pack, which was a good thing

Re-rate info - OK I just got an update from Oakes explaining why I appear to be the first to rate this "discontinued-now-perhaps recontinued-beer." Perhaps one day the many veterans who have had it before me will add their two-cents in also but for now I will leave the story below for your enjoyment or derision.
I can’t believe I’m the first to rate this - that requires a little story. I was up at the cottage this past summer and my buddy and I had nothing but golf and drinking in our future. Except that while we were out golfing our partners did the drinking. Since it was a holiday weekend we realized we had to act quickly to replenish ourselves.Valiantly Lisa and Roz volunteered to make the trip across the Ottawa River to a little corner store in small town northern Quebec. Returning home after a great day of golfing Rick and I were surprised to find this beer as one of the restocking purchases. I hadn’t heard of it but I don’t really care about Labatt and there is always a different selection available in Quebec so I thought nothing of that. Now that I see no-one has rated it though....it makes it a very cool purchase by my honey.
Ok then. Basic porter brown-black colour with a bubbly tan head. Rubyish tones when held up to the light - not bad looking. Kind of resinous and sweet initially. Coffee and chocolate are present along with some licorice and caramel. The problem is that it is very thin and seems kind of like it sprang forth from the same twisted thinking that saw Molson’s add caramel to the Export formula and try to pass it off as a dark micro-brew. By Labatt standards it’s pretty good, but by porter standards it isn’t.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 GMUcrew7 (516) - Mason, Ohio, USA - FEB 7, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 13, 2009 Pours like a coke, dark brown with a loud fizzing head that dissipates quickly. Very faint aroma, somewhat sweet and metallic, but very hard to place. Sweet bready malt flavor, with a sweet and somewhat smoky aftertaste. Light and watery body, overall a pretty weak attempt at a porter.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 nike (504) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 7, 2011
Special thank to Big D for this one. Overall, a good brew, not sure it is in the porter league. A bit thin and watery for a porter, but a great tasting dark larger at that. Good CO2, not complex for a porter, leaves with a clean crisp flavor.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 TheOrange (479) - Kent, Ohio, USA - NOV 6, 2011
This was in a large sampler box at the local grocery.
The Pour is nice and black, with a med head of tan bubbles. The aroma is slighter than you would expect from a porter, there is a bit of malt... but not much of anything. As a porter goes a it is abit on the thinner side. The body could be beefed up. The flavor is pretty much a straight roasted malt. A prett good beer.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 MrRain (473) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JAN 8, 2009
12oz bottle poured into a shaker glass. LP pours medium brown-colored with a pretty small head. This beer looks pretty similiar to cola. The aroma is light and light mineral water. This is a really bad porter. It is really light and definitely macro built.
