2.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle poured into glass. Dark blackish amber color with a yellowish cream colored head. No strong smell, kind of disappointing there. Thin feel on the palate, and lacking malt in the flavor. A non distinctive porter that tastes like it is mass produced. In terms of darker beers really easy to pound em. Overall not the worst attempt for Labatt but much room for improvement.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
The head is of average size, about one inch thick and it is tan in color. It fades out nearly as fast as it built up, leaving nothing on top and no lacing on the glass. The body is a very dark brown with deep crimson highlights. Its aroma is very vague and light. There is just a very faint sweet malt with some very light metallic notes. The flavor has a very bland, somewhat bready malt with some light buttery notes and light metallic/grassy hops. The finish is quick and fairly clean with a slight buttery/mineraly fade. The body and texture are very light and watery with an almost flat carbonation

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
11.5 ounce bottle, no bottle date. A friend gave me a bottle recently, figured I’d try it now. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear reddish/brown color with almost an inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. The brew smells like caramel and roasted malt, and some cola. It tastes like caramel and roasted malt, cola, minerals, and some bittersweet chocolate. Mouthfeel/body is light, it’s a bit slick but watery at the same time. It’s not one of the better porters I’ve had, that’s for sure. I didn’t have any problems finishing the bottle so it’s not like it was horrible, but I know I won’t be trying this again anytime soon.

Kind of a sickly, syrupy taste to this one. Pours dark enouhh with ok head as poured into the snow waiting for the bus in Aylmer. Sweet finish. Low carbonation. Lets leave this style to the craft brewers boys. Bottle from Bieres du monde across thr street.

Évaluation no. 18 Juillet 2010.
De couleur noire avec une mousse qui disparait très rapidement. Aucun nez.
Au gout elle est caramélisée avec en finale des notes métalliques. Difficile de trouver des saveurs. Aucun intérêt . Décevant

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
People are fucked if they think this is a bad beer. Pours a deep brown with a nice tan head that laces. Aromas of toffee, some roast and cigarette butts. Nice bar ambiance. Taste is bready with some cigar and tobacco notes. Finishes pretty damn dry and bready. This is good.

12 oz bottle from the four type variety case. Weak, insipid and anemic. The low cost of the case explains everything.

Bottle @ home tossed via courtesy of BlackIPA. Tasted during the Pussypete presents Molson/Labatt Grand Tasting 2013 in my parent’s basement. Cheers! Pours a fairly clear reddish brown appearance with a thin light brown head. Cocoa, light coffee, a touch tangy aroma. Kind of thin, lightly roasted malty, chocolate, coffee, a touch smoky flavor. A bit thin and watery but not too horrible.

I give this a perfect score, why you ask, because this is a pick-me-up when you are feeling tired and slugish. A real Granmother remedy. Just had Bronchitis and an ear infection, this is great to drink (1 bttle/day) to boost your immune system.
Don’t know what it contains, but it works.
