Surprise, surprise!!! One Labatt beer that I don’t trash. I like this beer for two things. The wheaty taste is fully acceptable and this beer is low carb and calories.

Bottle (341ml). Lord bless the LCBO singles bin. Looks like ginger ale with a small freakishly white diminishing toxic waste head (gets 2 pts for bubbles). MDS nailed this one - vaguely of stale apple juice, then mostly like water that’s been in a brand new cheap garden hose in the sun all day. Yuch. Tastes exactly the same - PVC, pool water, tonic water - this is beer? Mouthfeel fizzy, sharp, chemically. I guess this is sugary - mostly it’s toxic. Avoid unless you need the rating. Off to rinse my mouth several times.

bottle. fizzy yellow body with a tiny white head that quickly fizzes away. aroma is apple juice, plastic, chlorine, and grain. sweet body without much else...I guess it fits the bill for those people that like flavourless stuff. carbonation is high, like tonic water.

2005 bottle provided by and shared with clarkvv 4/28/2005: Pale yellow body with a fizzy white head that disappears almost as quckly as one can pour the beer. Aroma smells exactly like cheap vodka in a plastic bottle (as both clark and I immediately remarked), with hints of vanilla & corn. Very light body, watery, highly overcarbonated. Flavor is light vegitables, corn, syrupy sugar. Awful.

Tried on tap. Really not so bad just not specifically flavorful. Yellow, watery, fizzy carbonation. It would be drinkable if it were crisper.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2005 2005 bottle shared with bucknaked and the sink, 4/28/2005. Yellowish-pale-gold body with a fizzy, unretained white head. Smells of cheap vodka in a plastic squeeze bottle, light notes of vanilla-corn. Flavor of cooked cabbage, cardboard, corn syrup, and dirty, hard water. Light body, overcarbonated and just awfully wretching to drink. Drainpour.

This picked up from a LCBO agent, it was a holiday. Wasn’t looking for taste or aroma, it was a holiday, niether did I get a buzz. I wasn’t looking for much, I didn’t get much.

Not bad but obvoiusly missing some taste. Some improvement on labatt light but not much.
