2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
(33 cl bottle from Saveur Biere; Lot 442; BBD: April 2014) Pours an unclear pale, yellow with floaties and a big, white head. Good retention and lace. Aroma is somewhat yeasty and citrusy with a hint of pepper. No sign of the violet tea unfortunately. Medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation and a short and spicy finish. Taste resembles a tripel although with no trace of lemon or the tea promised. Aroma and taste are decent but the overall impression is disappointing given the appearance and the lack of the interesting adjunct.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2014 33cl bottle at Brasserie Thiriez in Esquelbecq, followed by another later the same night. Lightly hazed pale amber with a sticky white head. Enticingly spicy, seedy, bready, hoppy nose... dusty, airy basement must / cobweb character combined with herbal / spicy noble hops with baked seed cracker malt. Luscious in the mouth without being weighty or heavy... malt is toasty and caramelized, off-dry, slightly tart, full-on juicy and filling in the mouth, again, without any weight or alcohol. So freaking clean! The aroma and mouthfeel are next-level... Thiriez house strain combined with this malt expression is nearly beyond words. Son of a gun...
This was a 4.5 on first impression, and a second bottle, opened later the same day, was even better... a week later, a third was opened, to kick me in the face even harder. When it becomes too difficult to put into words, that’s when you’re reaching near-5.0 level beer. Among a host of high quality, world class beer, this one shines like few ever have. I’m being overly effusive, yeah, but it’s that fucking good.

330ml bottle [gusher]. Hazy golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity aroma has notes of peach and apricot, some citrus notes, minimally bready, malty basis. Taste is bitter, spicy yeasty, vaguely fruity without flattering sweetness, herbal and yeasty finish. Nicely balanced, not too sweet, good carbo, good mouthfeel.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 330ml (Saveur)
Hazy yellow color, good white head ... the bottle was gushing a bit. Dry Belgian yeasty aroma with some lime and spices. A bit like witbier. Medium-bodied. Lychee, citrus, hops, apple in the flavor. Foamy mouthfeel. Some bitterness and alcohol. Without so active carbonation this one could be quite nice one.
