Another gusher from LaBelle. I really don’t want to clean my flour on every beer, thank you. On the positive side, it has an awesome label. Pours a dark brown body and light tan head. Cacao aroma, rustic malts, farmhouse yeast, even some funk and a toast like appeal. Decent. Taste is more chocolate with softer brown sugar and a nice rustic cake like ending. Some smoke here too. Smooth rich, mouth filling brew. Much better than expected. Really nice actuality. (33cl bottle from Biere Revolution)

Bottle sample at my 5555th rating tasting at Sar HaMashkaot Ramat Gan. Thanks Tom L. Opens with a big gusher. Dark brown with a beige head. Strong aroma of iodine, peat and a spicy hint. Slightly sourish flavor with peat and a burnt bitter finish, slightly strange. Medium-bodied.

330ml bottle [Slight but constant gusher]. Jet black colour with average to huge, frothy, diminishing, on a low level fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Intense smoky aroma, lots of peat, shoe polish, tar, tarmac, TCP. Taste has identical notes with basic, moderate, dark malty sweetness; sticky palate, the texture is not as oily as the taste suggests. I’m really into Smoked, but this is quite some hard stuff - reduced, boiled down, seemingly poisonous - but still yummy. If you’d agree to define Schlenkerla Eiche Doppelbock as the outermost pole on the Smoked scale, representing the archetype of the Weyermann malt, ham and wood ashes side, Série Noire could do well as the opposite pole’s paradigm incorporating the peat, tar and shoe polish notes in extenso.

Glebia czarnego koloru, gestosc i nieprzejrzystosc. Super piwo i super w swoim stylu. Ciekawa filmowa etykieta. Polecam zapalonym fanom piw z Bamberga

TET (1546) - FINLAND - MAR 26, 2014
A strongly foaming beer that pours into the table and floor when the focus wasn’t present after opening the bottle. After cleaning and waiting that the bottle was calmed down, the black beer with a big and beige head was in the glass. The nose is strongly smoky with turf, some sweetness and almost burned malts. Taste is smoked, strongly roasted, more balanced turf than in the aroma, also herbs. Medium bodied, medium carbonation after the adventure in the beginning. Strong smoke and turf.

Torrefacto (501) - Madrid, SPAIN - FEB 18, 2014

Bottle: Black color with a foamy off-white head. Roasty, smoky aroma with bacon and smoked meat notes. Flavor is full of malt, chocolate, roasted malt, smokiness, roasted malt bitterness, ham. Very good, smoky brew.

Bottle 330ml (Saveur)
Gusher warning! Deep ruby color. good creamy brownish head. Aroma has smoke and wood. Medium bodied, foamy mouthfeel. Flavor has peaty smoke and toasted maltyness, some alcohol. Licorice in the finish. Active carbonation ruins a lot, otherwise nice beer.

Bottle [from trade with EricKok] @ home. Slight gusher. Black color, medium to full sized tan head that lasts for quite some time. Aroma is malts, lightly roasted malts, peat, lightly smoke. Taste malts, some roasted malts, again firmly peated, slightly smoke. Medium body, smooth yet suitable carbonation. Nicely balanced, a fine beer.

330 ml bottle. Lot 440. BB 04/2014. From saveur-biere.com.
Black colour with a huge foamy light tan head. Came out of the bottle like a missile (a bit more liquid though). Smoke, burnt wood, tar and salty liquorice in the aroma. The flavour is pretty noire allright... Heavy smoke, some malt, maybe a hint of hops and mild sweetness... like salmiakkijäätelö (salty liquorice ice cream). Fizzy. Strong... in many ways but the 8% is rather nicely covered with the heavy smoke. The label is nice... very movie-esque.
