The peaty malt gave it a smoked aroma which wasn’t so present in the taste.

50cl Bottle, thanks Eric! Murky golden orange colour, thick white head. Aroma of loads of peat, iodine, citrus, light fruity, hint of tartness. Flavour is actually quite tart/bordering on sour, very peaty, iodine, light smoke, fruity, light floral, firm citric tart peaty finish. Medium-bodied. Don’t know if the sourness is intended, didn’t really like it in this beer, although it is more or less refreshing. Mixed feelings.

Bottle, 25/05/13. Gushes out as soon as you open, beware. Pours a hazy amber with a small, white head. Aroma is a load of peat, some smoke. Like breathing in the exhausts of an old muscle car. Taste is quite cheery and fresh. The peat and smoke dominate, yes, but there’s a lot of fruitiness as well. An interesting combination that’s not often done with beers. In this one, it works. Fairly full palate with a bit too much carbonation.

Bottle 500ml. @ home on the terrace.

Clear medium yellow orange colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, straw, fruity, earthy, keller, light alcohol. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, smoke, sweet sugar, malty, sweet fruit, light alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130420]

Extreme gusher, unfortunately, losing more than a third of the bottle (because i was quick to save some). Orange brown body, very murky because of the yeast. Rustic aromas, smoked malts, wholewheat bread, fermented fruits and some brown sugar. Interesting and quite well balanced, did not expect this from a French brew. Very drinkable texture, with the right kind of smoked aroma appeal to make a thick flavour malty brew. German/East European appeal yet with a more pronounced yeast profile. I was a bit disappointed after the gushing but it’s actually a very well made and very rich, wholesome beer. Great stuff. (50cl bottle from Biere Revolution)

Bouteille: Golden, hazy, floaties visible, mid-sized stable whity head with a good lacework, smoky malt and citrussy hops in the nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; sweetish-yeasty finish completed by a light fruitiness and a light bitterness. Presumably well crafted, but not my cup of tea...

Bottle at Alex. Hazy orange coloured with a medium sized white head. Fruity and peated aroma of caramel and smoke with notes of tar. Fruity and peated flavour of hops and yeast with notes of smoke. Smoked finish.

Cloudy blond color; the bottle is a slow gusher; it pours a huge but compact and persistent head. The smoke aroma is really nice. Malt flavor, some sweetness, strange fruitiness that doesn’t fit with the smoke.
Not bad, but can be improved.

50 cL bottle, thanks to fiulijn. Pours hazy orange with a huge white head. Aroma is burned malty, vague plastic. Peated malt. Bitter, dry malty, light metallic and solid smoked to peated. Dry smoked and light burned finish.
