chokmah33 (88), Bremerton, Washington, USA Mar 4, 2008 Aroma of banana, pineapple, and citrus hops. Light carb, thicker bodied than your average IPA. NIce dry, bitter finish. Flavor is fruity sweet at first, relative to an IPA. Astringent aftertaste with enough sweet yeasty malts to keep it from being overly bitter. A lip-smackin good IPA.
Bier brauen (129), Bremerton, Washington, USA Jul 19, 2008 A little bit different than many IPAs. I could taste peach. The finish has a subtle earthiness to it. BlackDonald (724), On a beer trip all over the USA, California, USA Jul 17, 2008 One of my all time favorite IPAs in the NW style. Extremely well balanced, the hops are agressive, but not overpowering, always in balance with a moderate malt background keeping everything in check. Great lingering resiny aftertaste. probstk (627), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Jul 14, 2008 12 fl. oz. bottle shared with Lubiere (merci!), served cold in a goblet.
App.: Really cloudy orange-brown with broken up hop cones in the bottle!
Aroma: Very sweet citrus, big juicy hops, leafy, musty and earthy, some fruity malts.
Palate: Medium body, moderate-soft effervescence, oh, and hop leaves.
Flav.: Musty tangerine, lots of orange peel, leafy hops, some sweet malts; a bit sweet with a nice bitter finish that leaves some of the citrus aftertaste.
Really neat! I would likely strain the hops out next time. Bradrcr (532), Renton, Washington, USA Jun 29, 2008 6/28/08 On draught at the Brewpub. Aroma is almost Belgian with c-hop peppering. Appearance is hazy yellow with a medium maintained white head. Flavor is starchy, earthy hops that are never harsh and have just enough caramel malt balance to keep this drinkable. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a starchy texture. Overall, complex and interesting. after4ever (1652), Brier, Washington, USA Mar 16, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Hazy light amber with slightly burnished copper overtones. Very light gray film atop, and thinly scattered lace. Medium body with soft fizz. Big rich pine and resin on the mid-palate, but hardly a powerhouse by Washington IPA standards. Nice resiny cling on the finish.
