BlackDonald (724), On a beer trip all over the USA, California, USA Jul 17, 2008 This was a completely unbalanced take on this style. Has a honey sweet maltiness, with noble hops aromas throughout. Thin, earthy and vegetal on the palate. scrizzz (455), kirkland, Washington, USA Jul 16, 2008 very sweet aroma, not creamed corn like many pils, but a bright candied sugar aroma that dominates any hop aroma that may be there. light yellow/gold, approaches clear on the edges, minimal head. very still. i would vote for a law that both bans screwtops and requires bottle openers on every keychain. all i get here is the sweet syrupy pale malt character with no hop balance. hmm. Bradrcr (532), Renton, Washington, USA Jun 29, 2008 6/28/08 On draught at the Brewpub. Aroma is low, with light sour malt and not much else. Appearance is clear straw with almost no white head. Flavor is slightly noble hop forward with some pils sourness but very low sweetness; quite out of balance. Mouthfeel is low bodied with a low carb texture. Overall, badly balanced and it being served warm didn’t help. Although, it should have brought out more of that missing malt character. after4ever (1652), Brier, Washington, USA Mar 16, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. The cheerful locals at the bar next to me knocked this beer hard--said dude had had all kinds of problems since reviving it as a regular in the brewing rotation a few months ago. But this keg was delicious for sure. Crystal clear medium yellow with thin grayish head and decent wavy lace. Very little visible carb. Wet grass and leaves on the nose. Mild, softly carbed body. Big grass and hay notes really burst forth on the mid-palate. Fairly short-lived finish, but even that holds plenty of flavor. Dandy, fresh little pils. jcwattsrugger (3757), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 5, 2007 on tap-pours a thin retaining white head and slightly hazy straw color. Aroma is grain, grassy, sweet. Taste is sweet caramel/butterscotch, grain, faint flat hops.
