3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Malty aroma. Pleasant beer, lots of cereal flavour. A little floral hoppiness in the tail.
The best beer from Grans in a long time. But there are Czech lagers next to this on the shelves, so I won’t buy this often.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Was expecting a much darker colour, considering the name of the beer; it’s clear and amber coloured. A fluffy head forms quickly, and dissipates just as fast. It smells of caramel and I’m getting some odd hints of wintergreen and button mushrooms too. The taste is quite sweet ’first impression’ and has a somewhat bitter finish, a lingering nutty aftertaste too. The mouthfeel is a bit oily, and the carbonation is average-to-soft.
This is a macro disguised as a micro, so it doesn’t have the ’crafty feel’ to it, but it’s definitely Grans’s best beer.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2011 500 ml bottle, from REMA 1000. ABV is 4.7%. Lade Gaards Brygghus does not exist, this is another fake "craft beer" brewed by Norway’s crappiest brewery, Grans. Copper coloured beer, big cream-coloured head. Fairly nice aroma of butterscotch and caramel, hints of spices. Thin mouthfeel. The flavour has a slight acidity which seems totally misplaced in a dunkel, also notes of brown bread and caramel, but the beer is not very sweet. Very moderate hops. Not much to write home about, but as this is Grans, it is still one of their "better" beers.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Final bottle from the Trondheim REMA 1000. What do you call this seriously? It’s a weak attempt at a dunkel. I think "amber lager" about covers it. A step up from pale lager but nothing to get excited over.
