Bottle, trade with Cunningham, huge thanx maaan!!
Very nice bottle design. Pours dark amber colored with flat off-white head. Smells malty-sweet, sugary and slight artificial. Starts artificial sweet and musty malty, very sugary sweet and watery. Middle part is watery and very artificial sweet, paired with some caramel. Goes into a caramelly sweetish finish with some musty malts.

Pours a dark clear copper. Aroma has dms and diacetyl, in addition to some caramel. Taste has some diacetyl and some hops (florals). To balance it would have needed malt, it is a very unbalanced and taste most like an industrial lager.

Flaske fra Rema. Mørk rødbrun, med offwhite medium skumlag. Aroma av malt, honning og litt karamell. Lukter langt bedre enn den smaker, tam og kjedelig. Medium bitter, kort ettersmak.

Ingen vond øl, men heller ingen god øl. Tam. Intetsigende og litt kjønnsløs. Burde hatt mer smak og særpreg.

DAA; Pours clear amber with off-white, medium frothy head. Aroma and taste is malty, caramell, buttery and grassy hoppy. Medium body, light, watery texture with a fizzy carbonation. Thankfully ending with a dry, bitter, medium lasting finish.

Bottel from Remi 2000. Bold amber body with puffy head. Nose is spicy, caramel, malts, toasty. Taste is weaker, malts, caramel, some spices, honey but also quite subdued, watery. Starts out a lot better than it tastes.

Gyllen, mørk farge med et tynt lag med hvitt skum. Lettdrikkelig øl med lite smak, heller ingen framtredende ettersmak

1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
0,5L tall brown bottle, bottled late July 2013, bought at Rema1000.
Head caramel-white vanishing fast, body amber copper.
Scents of toffee, sweet malts, and I read caramel malts on the label and understand that’s it, a very sweet smell.
Mild taste of grains, corn, malts, metal, not very similar to the scents.
A smooth and watery mouthfeel. Aftertaste sort of just disappears, with notes of butter. It seems to me, that the brewery has not spent enough attention to all aspects of process, when they are making this dark beer. It is not enough dark, not enough taste, so overall it is like a "polotmawy" that has left the brewery too early.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Was expecting a much darker colour, considering the name of the beer; it’s clear and amber coloured. A fluffy head forms quickly, and dissipates just as fast. It smells of caramel and I’m getting some odd hints of wintergreen and button mushrooms too. The taste is quite sweet ’first impression’ and has a somewhat bitter finish, a lingering nutty aftertaste too. The mouthfeel is a bit oily, and the carbonation is average-to-soft.
This is a macro disguised as a micro, so it doesn’t have the ’crafty feel’ to it, but it’s definitely Grans’s best beer.
