4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 DalzAle (1466) - Eden Prairie, USA - APR 9, 2010
Growler generously sent by Iowaherkeye (Thanks!) Dark and slightly hazy orange pour, nice carbonation/lacing and a very rich woody/resiny hop aroma. Flavor is rich orange, sweet vanilla and a slightly sweet and well balanced flavor of strong woody hops all the way through.
I’m cracking this growler tonight with my in-laws in celebration of the birth of my son this afternoon and maybe it’s just the endorphins talking, but this beer is f-ing amazing!

I went all the way to Agora to try this beer, and while I quite liked it, it was too boozy and too malty to get full nod as a great double IPA. 11% wtf? I would have been fine with 5oz of this one. I liked it well enough but I wouldn’t rush back for this one. Try their standard IPA, it was clearly better in my opinion.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 BigSound (149) - New York, USA - JAN 14, 2012
Poured to a large Duvel tulip glass.
Pours a deep transparent rusty orange, an aggressive pour kicked up a good three fingers of white head.
The aroma is pretty awesome, tons of tropical fruit. Grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, apricot, and fairly light pine in there too.
The taste stays pretty true to the nose. Defiantly a nice dry west coast style IPA, the bitter sweet citrus rind is pretty prominent, I’m also getting a good amount of hop resin along with some pine in the finish (more pine in the flavor than the nose).
Great mouthfeel, the body is on the heavier side of light, with a fairly high carbonation. The big hoppy flavors really coat the palate and stick around for a pretty long time.
Overall a very nice beer, big, hoppy and dry, just as you’d expect from a west coast IPA.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ekoerper (369) - Iowa, USA - DEC 5, 2011
Aroma: dank, resinous hops, citrus and lots of pine. Pours light amber, white head, average retention, nice lacing. Flavor is firmly bitter, but not astringent, nice pine and citrus hops, dank and musty, resin, booze is noticeable but under control, light caramel note and slight sweetness in the finish. Medium body and carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Very nice brew.

On tap at Stone Brewing World Bistro. Hazy amber pour under a medium stone head with stubborn ribbons of lacing. Earthy, piney aroma. Aggressively hoppy initial flavor with a decidedly East Coast IPA profile. Bittersweet chocolate, toffee and citrusy coriander join the party. Sticky, almost abrasive texture and a sharp, dry finish.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 marcus (4065) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 26, 2011
On tap at Stone Brewing. Pours cloudy orange copper with a modest beige head and a citrus aroma. There is a delicious caramel malt flavor with piney hop bitterness that lingers on the palate. Pretty well balanced for an imperial IPA - the hops are not overwhelming, but quite sufficient.7
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ChazMania (610) - Pasadena, California, USA - SEP 10, 2011
on tap at Tony’s Darts Away in Burbank. This is my first taste of beer from Ladyface. Great aroma, more malty than a San Diego style IPA. Appearance is dark amber/orange with a frothy head. Taste is very different, it starts with the malt mild sweetness and then finishes very bitter- I sat for a moment thinking "wow this is bitter" then I’d sip and think "no its sweet- then a few seconds later- no its bitter". Very interesting beer, it was advertised as 9% so I don’t if the entry here stating 10.9% is old or what.

Hazy amber. Woody, earthy aroma with light citrus. Nicely balanced - I actually didn’t know it was an imperial IPA. Mellow and earthy, with moderate bitterness. Reminds me of some of the IPAs from McMenamin’s, actually.

I was very surprised with this beer. It is on par with many of the great double IPA’s I have tried. The hops are bitter in the middle but it trails off very nicely to leave a malty sweetness in your mouth. The taste is very clean and it has a slight burn of alcohol at the end. I enjoyed it so much I decided to get a growler of it. The growler pricing is very steep for what it is, however; the atmosphere of the alehouse make it worth the cost. Even if you only go for the beer, make sure to try some of the fries, or pommes Frites as they call them

Draught at the brewpub. Orange-amber color. Good clarity. Big dank and piney hop aroma. Dry and hoppy. Very light and dry for a double actually, but the bitterness isn’t over the top. Clean and smooth all the way through. Nice double iPA.

Sample tray. Dark amber with light biege head. Huge hops, pine and malt nose. Sweet and well carbonated, full bodied, and a bitterness that keeps on growing although could do with a little more balance. Very good DIPA though.
