UPDATED: FEB 8, 2012 On tap during the anniversary. Pours with a hazed bronze body with a huge, tan to off-white head that lasts for the full duration. Aromas are fruity with notes of wine, barrel, rich alcohol, ripe fruits, plum, caramel, brandy, tannins, and dark fruits. Flavors of rich dark fruits, cherry, plums, red wine and brown sugar. So rich! Medium bubbles. Very tasty!
2012 version shows more tannin and alcohol. Rich dark fruits, lightly waxy, lots of barrel and some brett. Good.

A: The pour is a dark amber/copper color with a smallish off-white head. S: Red wine dominates the aroma. Intense red grape and fruit aroma, with a touch of cherry. There is a nice oakiness to it and perhaps a subtle tartness. Sweet caramel and toffee with an overall dark fruit character. T: The flavor is very much the same as the aroma. Quite a bit of tart fruit, which I wasn’t really expecting. Cherry, plum, and raisin with some caramel and toffee. Lots of wine and oak flavor are also present. M: Medium in body with the carbonation is on the low end of medium. O: Of the Ladyface beers being offered at the festival, this was probably the best by default.
