Tap at Ladyface. Darker pour with excellent mocha foam. Dusted with cocoa on top. Nose is intense coffee bean from the ground coffee dusted on the head. Mouthfeel is extremely thin for style but the flavor is spot on lactic coffee, dank chocolate. Quite dry and dusty. Heavy attenuation kills the rich palate expected for porter. So dry and things it gains a lactic lemony tartness. Get slightly less efficient yeast!

Draft @the brewpub. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee aroma with hints of chocolate. Roasted malty coffee and chocolate flavor. has a roasted malty coffee and chocolate finish.

On tap at the brewery. The nitro gave it a luxurious, pillowy head. They sprinkled some coffee grounds on top of the beer. This added style points and really upped the coffee aroma in the beer (although it did make that last sip treacherous). The flavor of this beer didn’t quite match the aroma, but it was smooth and pleasant. Dry with slight roastiness. Carbonation (nitrogenation?) was a little lower than I would have wanted, but still a solid beer.

Very dark brown pour, creamy tan head from the nitro pour. Aroma is loaded with coffee, chocolate and strong roasted malt. Creamy and coffee laden flavor followed by some bitter chocolate and roasted malt. I love the coffee grind sprinkled on the top. Nice touch!
4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bfellows (15) - California, USA - APR 28, 2012
Great porter. Smooth, rich, bold without being too sweet. All the roasty goodness you want in a porter. A little bigger at 6% than most porters but not so boozy that it overwhelms the palate. Nice!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 ekoerper (555) - Iowa, USA - DEC 5, 2011
Aroma: loaded with coffee, chocolate and some ash, like a strong shot of espresso. Pours jet black, tan head with great retention and tons of lacing. Flavor is roasty, lots of dark roasted coffee and some ash, not a lot of hop bitterness, mellow and smooth. Creamy mouthfeel, medium body, low-medium carbonation. Solid brew.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pushkinwow (1371) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 23, 2011
Sample tray. Unfortunately had ground coffee on top so that very much changed the aroma and to a certain extent the taste (although let other try things at the beginning). On nitro, dark brown with light tan head. Coffee and roasted malts, thin and tasted almost like ice coffee. Well carbonated and a dry clean finish.
