COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
IBU 85 ABV 6.2% This hybrid American ale features a hearty quantity of pale malt and a massive dose of US-grown Cascade and Centennial hops. The resulting ale is a rich golden color and light-bodied, yet has a huge citrus aroma and is extremely bitter. For the true hopheads out there: it's our own Alpha Acid Test.

Thanks to PaulUnwin. This one was just unimpressive. This could be a nice summer beer after having just mowed the lawn, it’s refreshing but that’s its only redeeming quality.

Thanks to PaulUnwin for the share on this one. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is light malt, some bitter grapefruit, and some spices. I also would swear that I got some brett notes as well. Flavor is similar with notes of bitter citrus, and some funk along with a bit of hops. Light to medium in body.

The weak nose does a good job of hiding the massive hops in this. Reportedly the bar’s bestseller, this is very bitter, but nothing else. Clear -- see through -- yellow with microbubbles. Some butter flavors. Interesting, but there needs to be something else at work. Very long finish and quite enjoyable.

Classic yellow pour and hoppy aroma. The body on this one actually went well with dinner, with a finish that wasn’t very bitter for an ipa.

draft sample at Mad Anthony Oktobeerfest - Pours golden amd mostly clear with some lacing from the white head. The aroma is mainly citrus hops and one would expect from Cascade and Centennial. It tastes mainly of bittering hops. There’s enough body to make that pleasant though I expected more complexity from those hop varieties. It’s mainly just bitter tasting. I’m not getting much in the way of citrus, floral, or other notes. Fairly good, but I may sample and rate this one again when I get the chance.

Had this one on draught as part of a sampler at the brewpub in Lafayette, Indiana. Hazy, dark yellow pour with a citrusy hoppy, grapefruit nose and flavor, and a sharp finish. Excellent!

On tap at the brewpub. Tastes of a DIPA with the ABV of an IPA. Citrus and hop overload. Named for the 85 IBUs.........and rightly so. Hopheads will love it (as I do) but this won’t be for everyone.

Sample at Lafayette. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Citrusy c-hop aroma with a nice malt balance. Orange flavor up front balanced by malty sweetness and a bitter grapefruit finish. Solid IPA.
