Vanilla hop aroma. From a bottle. Quite strong and rude to say the least, a little cloying at times. Not sure what too think of this, Yes, a little too cloying and alky strong fer me. Funny, it says 6% but I bet its more like 7 or more. Wew, don’t tread on me. Nasty at times. Finish is a little weirdly difficult and nagging. If you like beers that approach IPA in style and rudeness, give this a try. Mouth coating oily palate with barely any co2. This IPA hater is not impressed.

Draft at WOB...cloudy orange in color with a white head. Aroma of citrus fruits and malt. Body is medium. Taste has the citrus, floral hops up front with a nice crisp clean roasted malt finish. Refreshing, with a sweet hop forward taste. Enjoyable.

Bottle shared by a friend as part of the reprieve following the Hopsnobbery Collective’s first (and last) Crappy Beer Tasting on 2/29/12. Clear amber pour with a medium off-white head. Malty nose with a bit of sweetness and some earthy hops. Malty flavor with a grassy hop finish.

22 ounce bottle, this was a new arrival at Blacklick Wine and Spirits and it’s always nice to try a new beer from an in-state brewery that I’m not familiar with. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear copper color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice and hoppy, the brew smells mostly like citrusy (grapefruit, orange peel) and pine hops, and some caramel malt. Taste is pretty much the same as the aroma, but the citrusy hop flavors seem weaker in the taste. It’s still a good, hoppy brew. There’s also a lingering bitter hoppy finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit coating and is well carbonated. I think it’s a solid beer, and at $4.99 a bottle I’d pick this up again. Hopefully I’ll see some of their other offerings in the area soon.

22oz bottle thanks to Brigadier: Pours a clear deep amber orange with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a lightly sweet toasted pale caramel malty nose with resiny piny hop notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and light malty sweetness with a good balance of resiny hop flavor and clean bitterness toward a drier, crisp bittersweet finish. Smooth and drinkable, a nice APA.

Draft sample. Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate earthy hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Dogbrick (5984) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 27, 2011
Sample at Brew Kettle in Strongsville. The beer ours a mostly clear amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. The aroma is hoppy with notes of citrus and malt. Medium body with a citrusy hops character along with flavors of sweet malt and caramel. The finish is hoppy with a short fruity aftertaste. Decent APA overall.
