As usual, the nose is very pleasant but the taste doesn’t follow. French craft breweries still need to learn how to make IPAs... ;)

Shared with wim at his place. Light brown colored beer with a reddish shine, with small white head and no carbonation. Floks of yeast poored in the glass. Nice soft hopped floral aroma. Medium sparkling palate. Finish is hopped bitter with some soft sweetness and fruit. Very nice balanced beer.

Quack-Duck (8230) - Down South, GERMANY - JUN 30, 2014
bottle from Village de la Bière Strasbourg. Amber colour, off-white head and a lovely hoppy nose. Full-bodied, solid malty base with the right richness to support all the aromatic and bitter hops. Hints of citrus fruit and tropical fruit, also some gooseberry. Good one!

mcberko (7248) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 18, 2014
On tap at La Fine Mousse, pours a hazy ruby red / amber with a medium beige head. Nose is very fruity, bringing out resinous hops, syrupy caramel malts, and some stone fruits. Flavour is very similar, on the maltier side for a double IPA, bringing out syrupy caramel malt, resinous hops, dried dark fruits, and some alcohol. Residual sugar content is fairly high and the malt base is too syrupy and prominent. Decent, but haphazard double IPA.
