Nose is thick with floral, sprucy, grapefruit; resiny and fruity. Flavor is the same, with limited maltiness. Palate was Lagunitas sweetness, almost on the thin, dry side; veeery drinkable. killjoy966 (231), Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 19, 2009 Pours out similar to some ciders with a foamy white head. Smells like citrus and grapefruit. Despite the heady aroma, tastes slightly pine-y and mildly bitter. Well-carbonated, watery, and thin. boFNjackson (1328), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2009 Bottle... Poured golden with a white head. Floral aroma of hops and citrus fruits. I thought this was well balanced with a soft citrus/passion fruit character that had some malted grains toward the finish. Well noticeable hops but not bitter at all. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 18, 2009 Strong, clean citrus and pine aroma. Label says it’s not a double IPA, but it’s got more than enough hops in my opinion. Piney flavor, with a resin-like feel. Just a bit too much like eating a pine tree for my tastes. I like their Hairy Eyeball much more. bhensonb (4404), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2009 Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Copper color with a slight white head. Hoppy citrus aroma. Medium plus body with sharpish carbonation. Flavor is light caramel covered by lots of hop, tending towards grapefruit rind. Finish is deliciously bitter. APA? Ok. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2009 Cask at Trappeze. Pours clear orange, with an amber tint. Aroma of big citrus hops, and light malt backing. Really fresh. Taste is also very hop-forward, with lots of citrus - grapefruit, lemon, orange, pineapple - and some mild malt in the background. Finish is nicely bitter. The mouth is great on cask, not too carbonated. Overall, a very enjoyable hoppy pale ale. stchloe (491), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2009 Strong hop nose, just comes right out of the bottle. Definetly an IPA despite the labeling, very full hop palette, ctirus but full.
