pours a golden/amber color...ever so slightly hazy...with a medium white head. nice lacing! aroma is very faint...tealike...with subtle citrus and spicy hops. also a bit of doughy malt. flavor is also tealike and has earthy spicy hops up front followed by hints of grapefruit. nice biscuity malt backing. mouthfeel is light and lively but a little watery. finish is lingering and dry. nice beer but not outstanding.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 rodzilla79 (90) - Maryland, USA - JAN 16, 2010
A strong American Ale with a great name. I pured this beer into my pint glass and it had a great head of foam with a beautiful color. It’s not a mild beer by any definition and it reminded me of some of the Stone beers. Give it a try and forget 2009.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 drpimento (1936) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 29, 2009
I like Lagunitas beers, but sometimes, like this beer, they favor the grapefruit characteristics in their hoppy brews. Think I’d like this more if it wasn’t for that. Poured a nice sized white head and lots of lace. Color is a slightly hazy medium amber. Aroma is malty, spicy, grapefruit hoppy. Flavor’s about the same. Very good body and carbonation. Finish is long on the grapefruit.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 tastybeer (1313) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - DEC 28, 2009
Pours yellow with a big ice cream head that leaves tons of lacing. Smells like wet dog, but I’ve noticed that with all Lagunitas. Taste is pine, citrus, hops, etc. Overall good but I think I got an old bottle, I was expecting more.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hike20 (38) - Iowa, USA - DEC 25, 2009
Pours a deep golden-orange color, very clear and with sparkling carbonation. The head is a bubbly off white that sticks around a while. Nice rich aroma of a variety of hops. I get strong grapefruit and pine. Virtually no malt aroma. Flavor is an explosion of hops as well, but not as overpowering as I expected from the nose. There is more of a malt aspect too and a touch of sweetness. I wouldn’t call this one balanced, but not as far off as I expected. Mouthfeel is quite nice. Not too thick or thin, and the carbonation is pleasant and not too strong.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 sinkr (323) - Odenton, Maryland, USA - DEC 21, 2009
Bomber->tulip: Pours a large, white head that exhibits good lacing atop a clear, yellow body. Light aroma of malt, with some caramel and grain. Hops are perfume-y and a tinge of bubble gum alongside. The body is light, the texture is thin, with soft carbonation, finishing astringent. The flavor’s duration is short, being lightly sweet, moderately acidic, and lightly bitter.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 doboy (397) - Morehead City, North Carolina, USA - DEC 21, 2009
Enjoyed with Celticbrew, DrBayern, Uncle Tom, Brian the Beer Pimp, and the two newbies, Lawyer Bob and The Boy Wonder Chris! Pours a dark yellow with a full nice lacy head. It has a very nice floral hoppy head, with nice bittering on the backside. mouthfeel was very nice.
