Lots of wheat for a curious malt complexity and leaving it light in color, but huge in flavor and satisfaction

Big piney and grapefruit nose, all hops on this one! Pours golden with a thick white head. Very floral hop flavor, pine and grapefruit peels, earthy bitterness, with a nice sweetness. Another great hop bomb from Lagunitas

From cask, with Nelson Sauvin. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is peachy and grapefruity. Smooth fruity. Crisp hoppy. Grapefruity and slight pine. Grapefruity. Crisp hoppy finish.

Wait, so this is basically Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ but with more hops and booze? Take my money, Lagunitas. If anyone is still keeping track of all the subcategories of hoppy ales, I guess you’d have to call this one an Imperial White IPA. I guess. While Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ presents a relatively even balance of wheat malt and hops, Extra! is more hop-forward, as you’d expect. Body is a shade darker and more hazy, but there’s the same gorgeous foam. Aroma is a blend of piney, citrusy, floral, and grassy hops. Flavor is equally complex. Fresh grass, leafy bitterness, melon, guava, orange, grapefruit, nectar, and hints of honey and wheat bread. Mouthfeel is sticky, dank, and crisp. The hops are damn near chewy. Anyone who thinks all wheat-based beers are light-bodied and sweet is bound to be pretty surprised by this brew.

Woof, this does not hide its ABV, which is strange because 8.5% isn’t exactly huge. Nose is a lot of alcohol, some acetone/fusel notes, and a background of floral mango and citrus hops. Flavor is alcoholic, big sweet high gravity, and sugary malts, balanced by a citrus and resin hop background, but only barely balanced. Overall a good beer, but more burn than it ought to have. Drinks bigger than it really is.

On cask at Ushers. Appearance - golden with a proportionate head. Nose - oranges, apricots and green hops. Taste - nettles and green pepper, almost seaweed. Of course big tangy citrus too. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - am I having the beer or is it having me.

Brilliant clear deep golden with a thin white head that leaves loads of lace. Toffee malts and bitter citrusy hops fill the nose. Mild body with balanced citrusy and earthy bitterness, flavorful grapefruit you and orange zest hops, toffee on the back end, and a wee touch of booze and bitterness. Very balanced all around, perhaps more sweet than bitter overall.

Another "I’ve had this numerous times and didn’t rate it" rate. Pours a deep orange to golden with white head. Aroma is mango and passion fruit. Taste is more tropical fruit with a mild malt character. This is one of the most solid go-to DIPAs that is readily available on the west coast.

Poured into a shaker glass. Golden color with a nice cream colored head and great lacing down the glass. Aroma is floral and citrus hops. Flavor has a lot of tropical fruit notes and grassy hops. Light/Medium bodied with soft carbo nation and a long finish.
