The aroma is filled with caramel, citrus, and hops. In the glass it is a golden pale ale with a crispy white head. Hops immediately caress the tongue with a nice balanced caramelized malt flavors to follow balancing out the beer. I only get a hint of citrus on the palate, grapefruit to be exact. Fantastic double IPA

12oz bottle from the local Jewel, very good tasting beer...seems light for a beer 8.5% alcohol

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very good pour, aroma, & mouthfeel but falls just a little short in flavor. Gold pour w/ a big fluffy white head. The aroma is just enough floral hops to draw you in. The taste is crisp & a delight on the palate. The hops art somewhat of an undertone in the flavor as the beer is crazy smooth. There are some nice hop notes that linger on the tongue. Pretty darn good overall!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Keg at Euston Tap. Light amber, still, slight haze, decent dense foamy white head leaves full lacing. Aroma is strong, sweet and hoppy … suggests lime. Body is medium, low-ish carbonation, not foamy. Taste is sweet caramel up front, very strong pine flavours, softly vegetal, some citrus peel, just a little bit of alcohol coming through. No astringency or bitterness which makes it drinkable, but also slightly watery. Overall, very clean hop character and a decent beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Keg at The Earl of Essex, Islington, London. A dark golden coloured pour with a thin white head on top. Hoppy, malty, tropical fruit aroma. Tastes sweet, hoppy, tropical fruit, grapefruit. Everything that a west coast DIPA should be. This is damn near perfect for me. A lovely DIPA.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The aroma is off the charts with tons of citrusy, west coast pine. As it warms, the malt underbelly is more apparent. The taste is good with plenty of juicy hop character; however, the sweetness of the malt is slightly over the top for me. It adds a complexity, but I think the strength and power of the malt notes carries too much throughout the brew. Overall, it’s pretty good, but there are better imperials out there. I like the regular little sumpin sumpin much better.
