Delicious, but a little for me to really put my finger on what I specifically liked about it. Just an all around great ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear gold with medium white head and decent lacing. Aroma is juicy orange peel dominating with other citrus - apricot, mango, grapefruit - and pine in the background. This smells really great. Taste is a second or two of sweet malts and citrus hops, then into a moderate hop bitterness - a bit more resiny pine here. Bitterness fades in the aftertaste, letting a little sweetness of the malt come through, but this is still a hop-forward brew. Really tasty overall. My kind of summer beer.

Bottle. Clear yellow/orange with a medium sized good lacing white head. Bread, biscuit and caramel in the aroma along with citrus and pine. Taste is light/medium sweet and bitter. Pretty crisp and long lasting fresh mouthfeel ending in a light bitter and dry finish. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation.

Pours light amber with creamy white head. Great citrusy-hop aroma. Bright hoppy flavor with signature Lagunitas notes. I find a lot of their beers to have similar characteristics, but luckily I like those characteristics.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tulip. A monstrous off-white head fills up the top half of my tulip with an initial pour. I may not have poured it that gently, but the head is proud and robust. A sheet of lace sticks to the glass as the head recedes to a 3 cm froth after a few minutes and leaves more lacing as I drink it. The beer itself is a transparent golden straw color. The nose is fairly sweet, with honey, wheat, and pale malt notes blending with juicy hop notes, with the sweetness emerging as the victor. The combination gives off a little bit of a cotton candy note. There is some pale malt sweetness and a bit of honey at the beginning of the sip. Right between the initial malt presence and a tidal wave of hops is a nice, uncut wheat flavor. It is a very nice segue between the malt sweetness and the lightness it entails and the acidity of the juicy hops. From then on, candied grapefruit, lemon, and apricot flavored hops rip through my taste buds. Somehow the hops seem to race for finish line and then stop on a dime for a crisp, clean finish. There is just a bit of residual bitterness that reminds me to take my next sip. The carbonation is smooth and creamy, with a body that feels light and fluffy but with enough substance for the ABV as well. A nice juicy acidity closes out each sip, but there is not much of a residue after the sip is over. This is an interesting combination of styles, and one that I would be happy to have a few times over the course of a day.

A - Pours dark blonde with big frothy 2 finger white head. S - Fresh grapefruit and orange off the top. Pale malts and some fruit-strawberries and pineapple. T - Green citrus hops wrap around a great pale malt. Hints of grain and lemon. Finished very crisp and clean. M - Moderate carbonation, medium body, clean and zesty. With all the citrus this would be a fantastic thirst qeuncher in the heat of the summer. I would have never known this was an American Pale. Serving type: bottle 02-22-2011
