Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy dirty amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of West Coast hops is noticeable though not too powerful. Taste is also a good mix between some citrusy hops with a nice bitter presence and a good malt backbone though wheat is hardly noticeable. Another easily drinkable beer from Lagunitas with not too much complexity.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 9 Oct 2010) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with citrus, grapefruit and grainy malt. Fruity, malty taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, hints of pine needles, a solid malt structure with some sweetness and a generous hoppy bite in the finish. Slightly more than medium body, sweetish and quite bitter. Well balanced and quite excellent, acutally.

Huge hop aroma. A blend of floral and citrus aromas. The aroma is all hops, not malt or alcohol. Pours a clear light amber color with large white head. Taste is hops with some sweet malt. The hop flavor works well. Somewhat bitter with a touch of hop oiliness. The oily hop flavor lingers in the aftertaste. I like this beer on the initial drink, but for me the aftertaste is not pleasant.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2011 Pours clear gold with light head that goes quickly, but leaves nice lace. Aroma was deceiving; citrusy and almost a bit sweet. It was very pleasant, but the taste was far more on the bitter side. I love me some hoppy beers, but I could’ve stood a little better hop/malt balance. Still get citrus, but a bit earthy. I love Lagunitas and this is a good IPA, just doesn’t quite top my list.

Tasted from 12oz bottle purchased at Discount Liquor. Pours clear bright orange with a thick, frothy white head that leaves heavy lace after a slow recession. The nose is fresh orange citrus with a green hops aroma and a solid brown sugar and caramel malt and bread aroma. The flavor is sweet with the brown sugar and caramel first, moving into a very nicely integrated orange and lemon hops flavor, and finishing with the bread and bitterness. The body is medium with a sticky texture, average carbonation, and a long brown sugar and bitter hops finish.

Get it! The perfect IPA. Smooth mouth feel and taste is incredible. Perfect balance of hops and malt. The best Lagunitas I’ve tried. 7.5% abv not noticable.

12 oz bottle. Pours a light pale golden with a small foamy White head. Aroma is fresh and grassy hops. Some citric fruit and a touch of funk. A good grainy caramel back. Flavor is again mostly fresh citric hops with a bit of pine and floral notes. Finishes bitter but not overpowering with a smooth malty lInger. Medium body and a sharp carbonation. Good ipa

Bottle. Pours dark gold and pale orange with a small foamy white head. Aromas of funky guava, papaya, floral and pine hops, a little sugar, and slight pepper. Flavor is slightly bitter pine, salty citrus peel (orange), grapefruit, spicy floral hops, and brown sugar. Juicy, crisp, a touch of sweetness, and medium carbonation. Tasty beer; seems a touch salty, but pretty nice.

8/20/10 notes: Bottle. Pours light orange, perfectly clear with just enough sticky lacing. Very pretty. Aroma has lemon and mixed flowers, very crisp with traces of wheat. Body is light, allowing flavors to dance briefly on the palate before a refreshing finish; again perfect for the hybrid IPA-wheat style. Flavor has same components as the nose: lemon-floral dominance, smoothed by an essence of wheat. A summery IPA through and through, and I’m liking this beer a lot. It has disappeared quickly in my glass.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2010. Golden to copper color. Sweetish hoppy aroma with petrol, lemon and toffee. Nice tropical fruity hop flavor with lemon and mango. Strong fruity-bitter finish.
