Way smooth and silky with a nice wheaty-esque-ish-ness. Just the little sumpin’ sumpin’ we all need to kick Summer into full swing! Ingredients: Hops, Malt, Hops, Hops, Yeast, Hops, Water, and Hops.

aroma is bright ’five alive’: lemon/lime grapefruit. appearance is translucent lemon gold with good lacing, fine reducing head. flavor is prickly ruby red grapefruit with good pine, late lemon drop sweetness. substantial, lightly sticky mouthfeel.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2010 There’s nothing like a nice IPA in the summertime and this is definitely a nice IPA. It’s not too attractive though. The golden orange color though the foamy white head doesn’t add much. The nose more than makes up for it. It smells like fresh hops in a bag, very deep and piny. The taste might be even better. It’s very light bodied and dry w/ just a nice sparkle of carbonation. This is definitely hop forward but not bitter to the point where it distracts from the lovely citrus and floral flavors. My only complaint--and a small one in this case--is I wish this clocked in more around six percent alcohol so I could drink more of it.

Sweet aroma, very reminiscent of Dogfishhead 90 minute. Flavor is also similar, but not as heavy and therefore actually almost sessionable. Really a great beer with tons of hops.

Golden pour into St. Feuillien chalice. Very strong dry-hopped aroma. Not surprised to be slapped in the face with grapefruit and pine at first sip. It is smoothed out with some caramel sweetness. Damn glad I picked up a pack of this! Lagunitas always has a certain way about their IPAs. Definitely always grab a new Lagunitas when i see it.

12oz bottle, presumed fresh, from grape & gourmet. pours a light, clear orange with a thick, creamy white head leaving drips of lace. aroma is great with big, juicy, citrus hops notes of orange and white grapefruit with hints of peach syrup, pear juice, and toasted malts. flavor is very tasty as well with big citrus hops notes of orange, grapefruit juice, and lemon zest with a nice, prickly pine notes coming in late just ahead of the dry, crackery malts and light bitter, hoppy finish. palate is medium bodied with bright carbonation. overall, another solid ipa from lagunitas.

Bottle. Amber pour with a short, fizzy white head. Nose is big citrus - orange peel, orange rind and grapefruit juice. Taste is also big citrus-laden hops. Orange peel starts it off, then comes grapefruit juice and orange pulp. There’s a pleasant caramel and malt sweetness int he background as well. Body is medium and resinous with a fizzy carbonation. Ends like it began - big citrus and hops! More sweet malt and lighter caramel notes but the orange and grapefruit step up and go full throttle on this.

This brew is not screwing around. A very basic, refreshing, delicious IPA. Simple and nearly perfectly executed, quite possibly the best Lagunitas brew I’ve ever had.

Bottle. Pours clear gold. Thin to medium non-persistent white head, poor lacing. Nose is strawberries, light hops, spice, light stonefruit and pineapple, a bit earthy-smelling. Perhaps this is a bit old? Flavours are mildly bitter, with mandarins and nectarines, notes of tangerine as well. Citrus notes are joined by a light juniper flavour as well. Some tea and spice in the finish, as well as light ashiness andlight candy. Gentle.

draft @ OTH. golden, white head. aroma/flavors, hoppy, citrus, and grapefruit, yeasty udnertones? sweet with nice caramel malt profile, bitterness is a little in the background, light palate, dry tingly spicy mouthfeel. Found the hop profile to be a little light. Solid IPA.

Clear bronze color with a thin white head. Aroma is citrusy hops, with a bit of grapefruit and pine, but much mellower than you would expect. Flavor is bitter and crisp, but again, mellow. It would have been hard to imagine Lagunitas making a mellow IPA, but they did it. They made a great summer ale.
