4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 10, 2012 Pours a light golden with a thinnish white head on tap at the Hopleaf in Chicago. Very hoppy. A little in the aroma, and big in the flavor. This brew is definitely growing on me. The flavor is a bit sweet, and very nice.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours gold-blond and transparent with a big, somewhat foamy white head. Nose is a fairly strong blend of green apples, spice, floral hops, and a touch of yeast. Flavor has an immediate but light roasty quality before quickly becoming overwhelmed by the fruity malt, wheat breadiness, and plenty of bitter hops. Finish is short and tart. Delivers what you expect in a solid IPA.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Color is a hazy golden color, with the likes of a lager only hazy. Lots of fresh hop smell, grass, peach, apple. Rather thin, quickly dissapating head. Mouthfeel leaves some to be desired. Taste is of fresh hops... citrus, pineapple, slight sweetness. Not much caramel malt. Finishes starts strong but does not last long. Only weakness is that itís a tid bit watery.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle poured into pint glass. Pours a golden orange color with a medium white head. Aromas of citrus hops. Hop bitterness up front. A tart- sweet ness that is different from other IPAs makes it different and interesting.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz into a pint glass. Pours nice golden amber with a whitish head. Aromas of pine and malt with maybe some floral notes. The taste is hoppy for sure, but well balanced. The hops provide some nice pine flavors with slightly harsh bitterness. Not sure which hops produce this profile, but they must use the same ones in Great Divide, as they remind me of each other. Overall a nice IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from ōlbutikken, Copenhagen, Denmark. Aroma has a lot of citrus and some caramel. Pours a yellow golden with a high white foam. Taste is medium bitter and medium sour. Well balanced but I donít really care for the sour part of this IPA. Mouthfeel is nice, low to medium carbonation.

Medium coarseish offwhite head. Faintly hazy amber body with very
light carbonation. Tropical fruit, resin, and straw aroma with
mealy dusty notes. Dry-sweet mealy pineapple and alcohol taste
with resiny notes. Mid-bodied. Dry earthy resiny aftertaste with
funky grassy fruity notes. Nice, but a little alcoholic and
harsh. (0.355l bottle from some licquor store in San Francisco.)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
As light and smooth as this is, believe it or not this is actually a 64IBU IPA. Sure, on the lighter end of the style but despite its easiness on the palate itís also bold. When I first drank this I had no idea it was an IPA... it felt to me like a smooth, earthy pale ale. Letís just say this is one beer, as the brewer suggests, thatís great for welcoming in the summer. Although in Texas we tend to dread the coming of summer, I always look forward to the refreshment that beer brings - and this tops the list. This is a great beer to satisfy your hop cravings while keeping you refreshed - and without sacrificing body. It has a full, thick, dense, frothy off-white head with a clear, pale golden/yellow color and slow, steady carbonation. In the nose... amazing. The aroma is probably the best feature of this beer. It smells extremely fresh and floral (and a little citrusy) - like youíre shoving your nose in a bag of hops. A beautiful nose. In the mouth you get more of the same hop character as experienced form the aroma. Full-bodied and creamy, but smooth and light. Hops are definitely taking the stage with this beer, but the malt foundation is also quite succulent - a great balance in my opinion. Alot of local Texas IPAs that are light, sufficiently hopped, and refreshing, Iíll tag them as a good Texas summer beer... but if a Texas brewer could make an IPA like Little Sumpiní Sumpiní Iíd have to recalibrate my standards. It does have a slight earthy, almost biscuity character with a finish thatís thinly bitter with hops dominating. As much as Iím talking about hops, this is actually incredibly easy and smooth. Iím very impresed with this beer. This definitely tops my list of Lagunitas IPAs.
