Great, fresh hop taste. Goes down a bit sweet while on the hoppy side but damn this is smooth. The hops are just everywhere which makes this a stand out brew. Head last a bit and the color shades in itself with copper, tan and gold mixed in a whirlpool. Another magnificant brew from Lagunitas.

Had this one bottled, thanks Jim! Very interesting and unusual example of the style. Clear, bubbly golden yellow pour with a one-finger eggshell head. Nice light citrusy hoppiness in the nose, continues into the flavor balanced with candy sugar sweetness and a toasty maltiness. Bold, yet soft finish, unassuming. I enjoyed this beer greatly.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
My oh my, what a nice beer. Bright gold body with a thin but lasting white head. Wonderfully inviting aroma of pine, sweet grapefruit, and pineapple. Smooth, medium mouthfeel. The flavor lives up to the aroma. A sweet, doughy entry fades to a moderately spicy finish with flavors of sugared grapefruit, pineapple, pine, and anise. Absolutely delicious.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
draft, a nice copper body with a slightly off white head that had some lace. Aroma had a good caramel malt base too it and good resinous hop notes. It also had a good yeast quality to it, almost like a Belgian triple. Flavor was well balanced with the malts, hops were assertive, but never over powering. A nice yeast quality through out. Finish was smooth.

pours a very clear golden color with a medium sized creamy white head....nice lacing! aroma has some sweet citrus...orange blossom, pineapple, grapefruit...and delicate spicy hops...also some pils malt. flavor is very layered with hops...grassy, citrus, and spicy/herbal hops all shine through with decent malt backing...almost biscuity. mouthfeel is slightly oily and the finish lingers with dry herbal grapfruit notes. very tasty!

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This golden-colored ale is smooth, tasty, and unassuming. Reveals resiny American hops mildly in the nose, with a candy flavor upon drinking well-balanced by pleasant bitterness. Finishes with a dignified spicy hop flavor and aroma - almost of Noble hops. Taste lingers only a short time. Not intricate, but I think this ale shows how an American IPA could be a great session beer. It takes the stye from an overenthusiastic American experiment to a respectable style with great potential as a tool for enjoyment in good company.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hops upfront, resinous lemon zest, cardomon and aniseed with an underlying salty ocean tang. A dank sweatiness is somewhat offputting. Flavour is similar, tangy hops upfront developing into a clean and dry malt character. Big bitterness before an overwhelming salty/ocean tang to finish. Overall it missed the point for me, the balance was lacking and the salty/sweaty character really stood out, especially in the finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[Bottle] Pours a bright golden color with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruit, lemon zest and yeast. The taste is moderately hoppy, with citrus and perfume. Interesting tart and lightly sour notes that are probably thanks to the yeast used. Could use a little more malt. Noticeable alcohol with a lingering bitterness in the finish. There are some things I liked about it, but in the end it comes out a bit muddled.

mango and lemon in aroma with just a hint of bread dough. Maybe some spruce tips too. Golden yellow with a light haze. Thin white head. Flavor delivers a nice biscuity malt backbone with a nice sweetness that plays against the strong citrus flavors. Maybe a little juicy fruit thing happening. Very nice lively carbonation that helps keep the hops from being overbearing. Dry finish. Really a delight, glad I got a six.
