3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
pours a very clear golden color with a medium sized creamy white head....nice lacing! aroma has some sweet citrus...orange blossom, pineapple, grapefruit...and delicate spicy hops...also some pils malt. flavor is very layered with hops...grassy, citrus, and spicy/herbal hops all shine through with decent malt backing...almost biscuity. mouthfeel is slightly oily and the finish lingers with dry herbal grapfruit notes. very tasty!

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This golden-colored ale is smooth, tasty, and unassuming. Reveals resiny American hops mildly in the nose, with a candy flavor upon drinking well-balanced by pleasant bitterness. Finishes with a dignified spicy hop flavor and aroma - almost of Noble hops. Taste lingers only a short time. Not intricate, but I think this ale shows how an American IPA could be a great session beer. It takes the stye from an overenthusiastic American experiment to a respectable style with great potential as a tool for enjoyment in good company.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hops upfront, resinous lemon zest, cardomon and aniseed with an underlying salty ocean tang. A dank sweatiness is somewhat offputting. Flavour is similar, tangy hops upfront developing into a clean and dry malt character. Big bitterness before an overwhelming salty/ocean tang to finish. Overall it missed the point for me, the balance was lacking and the salty/sweaty character really stood out, especially in the finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[Bottle] Pours a bright golden color with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruit, lemon zest and yeast. The taste is moderately hoppy, with citrus and perfume. Interesting tart and lightly sour notes that are probably thanks to the yeast used. Could use a little more malt. Noticeable alcohol with a lingering bitterness in the finish. There are some things I liked about it, but in the end it comes out a bit muddled.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
mango and lemon in aroma with just a hint of bread dough. Maybe some spruce tips too. Golden yellow with a light haze. Thin white head. Flavor delivers a nice biscuity malt backbone with a nice sweetness that plays against the strong citrus flavors. Maybe a little juicy fruit thing happening. Very nice lively carbonation that helps keep the hops from being overbearing. Dry finish. Really a delight, glad I got a six.

Bottle. Complex invitingly cleanly sweet and fully-expressed hops. Good slightly darker amber color. A unified sweet bitter taste. Sticky clean finish.
Big mouth feel. Excellent.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This was one of the twelve beers for the Christmas of 2010. I was surprised to find this beer had not been rated. It is a seasonal ale from July 2009. The ale poured a clear golden color with a small head that stayed with the ale. The ale has a medium body. The higher IBUs were very evident with a nice balance of alcohol over 7%. There is a bitterness as you finish each drink.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Grapefruit hop aroma. A little yeasty, Cloudy golden colour. Decent white frothy lace. Rich grapefruit flavour. Hoppy, yet a little dishwasher. Bad bottle maybe.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours mostly clear gold with a thin white head.
Mildly fruity, hoppy aroma.
Lightly bitter flavor.
Easy drinking, but it doesn’t get into any exciting territory.

12oz bottle poured into a Shaker at 43°. Color is a nice gold with good carbonation and a small rocky head. Aroma is a fresh raw hop scent. It has a lighter medium body with a creamy mouth feel. Flavor starts lightly sweet with citrus fruit flavors then a bold bitterness jumps out. After taste is slightly dry as the bitterness hangs on. Overall its a good brew just a little too much citrus for me.
