3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours fairly clear golden with a nice white head, clinging to the glass. Wonderful fresh hop and citrus aroma. Flavor is bitter citrus, malt back with a little funk and tartness. Bitterness remains, and the finish is fleeting. I get some kind of a grassy/vegetal note as well, but I canít quite put my finger on it. Palate is medium bodied, very slight stickiness, and excellent carbonation. TAsted from the bottle @ 53F.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cracked a bottle after long dayís work. Drinking it colder and faster than it probably should be drinken. Nice clear gold color with a ring of head around the glass. Aroma has the floral & orange peel hop-appeal. Taste brings a citrusy sweetness to the hops. I mostly get grapefruit, and also maybe some mango flavor. The sweetness real blends well with the spiciness from teh hops. Nice mouthfeel and good balance. Welcome summer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2014 Appearance was clear golden with off white creamy lasting 2 finger head, loads of lacing throughout glass. Aromas where acidic fruits and grassy, piney hops, slight grainy sweet malt. Taste was sweet grainy malt then the flavors of grapefruit, lemons and oranges. Palate was smooth soft creamy carbonation just the right amount. The balanced medium body was lasting length but stellar tart finish. West IPA...

This is a great IPA. Perfect for warm weather, watching a ball game. I think the other reviews have said it all.

I could not give this100% across the ratings, but I would be hard pressed to objectively defend why. Not the best I have ever enjoyed, but I would be hard pressed to identify every nuance as to why?
Iíd you are an IPA hophead, I can guarantee that you will be very pleased with this great brew. 98 rating? Justly earned!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from bottle.
Poured a light orange hued color with a very nice long lasting off-white, plenty of carbonation, almost sparkling. Great lacing the entire length of the glass.
Amazing hoppy nose...very citrusy, lemon grapefruits and melon shine through, but not without a healthy does of hoppiness.
TASTE: Starts off slow, the malt and wheat content hit the palette initially followed by a rush of hops. The hop character is very citrusy, but well-balanced and fades into a pleasant hop bitterness. Everything remains balanced from the beginning to the end.
medium bodied, with very nice carbonation. It is highly carbonated but to the perfect point that allows all the flavors to explode.
This is one of the best beers Iíve had in awhile. Hoppy enough fro the IPA lover, but more then just hops and bitterness. Perfectly balanced. Since I had it Iíve been drinking it everywhere I can find it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a see-through yellow gold with light white head. Aroma of piny hops. Flavor is mildly sweet and well-balanced with hoppy goodness. Very tasty, not as bitter as most IPAs.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2014 Terrific fruity IPA that still packs enough of a bitter punch to fit within the style - tasty! At 7.5% ABV, itís scarily sessionable somehow, too. My favorite from Lagunitas. JUNE RE-RATE: still like this one, but downgrading it slightly. Itís a tad sweeter than my fave single IPAs, and I have grown to prefer some other Lagunitas that Iíve sampled since. NOVEMBER 2014 RE-RATE: Been two years since I had this. Donít like it nearly so much now. It has some good flavors, but there is also a floral and pine character so strong I almost choke and gag. Coupled with the sweetness, itís a tough one to put down. Not drainpour level, but I still never want to get it again. Just too much and too harsh despite good elements.
