4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
I finally found a six pack of this at BevMo in Sacramento, CA. From a 12 oz bottle this poured a clear copper color with a robust off white head and very attractive and sticky lacing rings. Nose is of citrus and floral hops. This has the mouthfeel I have come to associate with Lagunitas - slick, smooth, and simply delightful on the tongue. Very well balanced with lots of malts and hops, and a long biter finish. This is really a good drinking beer and I like even better than its big brother the "Extra".

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle, no date. Pours clear gold/yellow with a two finger foamy white head. Was kinda hoping for some haze, but this is crystal clear. Leaves some initial rings of lacing and maintains a faint cap. Aroma is very hoppy up front, particularly citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, keep inhaling and some wheat and banana come into play. Pretty one-dimensional, but pretty darn nice. Flavor also starts very hoppy, citrus, pine, earthy hops, some wheat characteristics but they are having a hard time fighting against the hops. Finishes relatively dry with some lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel is thin, medium carbonation, very easy drinking...perhaps a bit dangerous at 7.5% ABV. A deceptive brew. I hate wheat beers, but I sure do like this one. ’Course this is more IPA than Wheat so that helps score points with my palate.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355mL 2010 courtesy of tastybeer. Poured a clear yellow with a healthy, dense, bright white head that had good retention and good swathes of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is fresh nectarines, orange pulp, citrusy/juicy hops. Not super intense but very aromatic and enticing. Taste is bit prickly, not too bitter, moving to a seltzer water type palate. Body is a little sweet, white sugar, unfermented sugars and crystal malt is present but not too distracting. Pretty fair IPA offering that is hard to hate but also hard to rave about.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Served from the bottle (2010) the the OTM Tasting Room. The appearance is a lightly browned gold. The flavors and aromas are a nice spicy hop profile with moderate grapefruit juice. The malt/wheat backing is very tasty for the summer months.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Always love me a Lagunitas. They’re malty, they’re hoppy, they’re not overpriced. They taste damn good and leave a lingering hop bite on your palate. Yum!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (2010 release): Pours a clear light golden brass with a frothy, well-lacing off-white head. Has a fresh grapefruity hoppy nose with a touch of light malty sweetness. Body has average fullness with a nice light malty sweetness and good fresh resiny hop flavor before a smooth, bittersweet citrusy finish. An enjoyable and dangerously drinkable IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pours a clear gold beer with a thin white head. Grass and sweet fruit scent. Taste is earthy and grapefruit...an IPA the wife likes is a good thing.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle, nice and fresh, purchased from Bottle Barn. Pours a bright, clear, golden-orange color; creamy, significant, fine-bubbled white head with excellent lacing and retention; solid pour. Nicely expressive, aromatic hop nose, showing grapefruit, oranges (Amarillo, is a guess), and even a touch of pine; slightly warming alcohol character, though well-integrated; minimal passing note of crystal malt, if at all; definitely more expressive in its hop aromatics than many of the ASAs they put out; probably the most engaging aroma of anything I’ve had from them. Medium body; medium carbonation; non-astringent and no immediate show of alcohol; nicely juicy orange and grapefruit hop character, along with (again) a touch of pine; this strikes me as Amarillo and Simcoe with some sort of C-Hop, maybe?; relatively quiet malt core, showing some candied malts and hints of crystal (but nothing rough, thankfully); light fruitiness; relatively tasty IPA with a hop character that I tend to generally enjoy, though with a slightly viscous middle. Still quite tasty, though I see no reason that this needs to be 7.3%. You crazy Petalumers. Lengthy finish (always that sticking bitterness): oranges, sugar; balanced out.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap @ Rodan...
Pours a clear golden/amber color with a gorgeous large white foamy head. Aroma is fantastic - easily my favorite aspect of this beer - very nice waves of fruity scents comprised of sweet melons and citrus. Really remarkable.
Flavor is like a more mellow version of the smell but with a touch of bitterness added in. Very well carbonated - mouthfeel feels very appropriate for the style.
Will definitely be drinking this one again - very tasty and one of my favorites from Lagunitas.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a clear yellow gold with a smallish creamy white head that quickly diminishes to a thin film that laces the glass.
The aroma is bready caramel malts with resiny piney hops and a little fruit. Smells a bit dank and earthy too.
The flavor is some bready malts and musty eathiness with a lot of hop bitterness - piney, floral and resiny. There’s a little fruit too. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with some sharp carbonation.
Overall, a nice IPA. Some of the characteristics remind me of Gubna by OB, but it’s more reserved.
