3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 trevor211 (1187) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 7, 2009
Pours a honey orange with a decent head. Lots of hops on the nose - way more than I expected in what claims to be a wheat beer - slightly earthy, but mostly just nice and crisp citrus hops. Ooooh - this might be one of my new favorite "I don’t want anything crazy" brews - hop-forward, with a bit of a bite to the bitterness up front, then smoothing things over with the lightly toasted grain / wheat notes, and finishing with a citrus zing. Perfectly refreshing after a day’s work - exactly what I wanted.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 madvike (2090) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 7, 2009
Bottle - Clear, light amber pour with a small white head. It’s potent on the nose, with a lovely blend of pine hops, citrus, and some honey. There’s lots of hops flavor--big surprise, I know--with with a decent amount of malt to back it up. Love the citrus hop flavor. It’s medium-bodied and pretty dry, just a nice overall brew. I tend to overlook Lagunitas sometimes because they’re so cheap...is that messed up or what? I need to sample more of their stuff.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 JaBier (3801) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JUL 7, 2009
Sampled as a bonus beer at the Sierra Nevada tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits on 7/2/09. Clear copper pour with a big off-white head. Aroma is a ton of grapefruity hops and a bit of sweet malt. Hop flavor is grapefruity and spicy with a nice malt balance. Pretty straightforward, but I’m not complaining. Lagunitas continues to impress.

I was very suprised by the bitterness and cask barrel taste that i got from this beer. Very milky ipa with a hop kick but with alot of premature flavors.

12 oz bottle from Mike. Wow, what a hop bomb. Aroma and flavor are similar with an amazing amount of pine and grapefruity hops, yet supported by enough bready malt to keep it interesting. Too bad it’s a seasonal cuz I’d like to enjoy this year ’round!

Good fruity and citrus hop flavor. Great aftertaste. Nice head. The kind of beer where you cherrish the flavor of the burp.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 redlight (2289) - Winter Park, Florida, USA - JUL 7, 2009
draft @ redlight redlight. Nice citrusy nose, a lot of tangerine on the nose. Pours blonde with a solid white head. Solid hop flavors, citrus with a sticky pine in the end, light and refreshing. Man these guys do hoppy so well!
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hellbilly (3249) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - JUL 6, 2009
hazy golden colored pour with a soapy white head and ladder-like rings of lace.
the aroma and flavor are a bit sweet and pretty much simply described as ’lagunitas’. citrus pine and grass mix with some pale malt and spice. it might be sad to be able to pigeonhole a brewery like that if the final product wasn’t so damn tasty!
medium bodied, crisp, clean and refreshing. 8/3/7/4/16/3.8
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BeerandBlues2 (7421) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - JUL 6, 2009
Bottle. Pours clear orange with a small, fizzy, white head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, cereal), heavy hops (citrus, pine, grass), average yeast (earth, sweat) with notes of orange peel. Medium bodied, gritty texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 milewide (1205) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUL 6, 2009
Weak and thin head. Bland flavor for an IPA. I like this brewer, but this was a below average IPA.
