4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20 rangerred (660) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - NOV 27, 201212oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a nearly clear medium cold with a rock solid one finger white head. Really amazing head retention and strong lacing cleaning to the sides of the glass.
Aroma is packed full of tropical fruit. Tangerine and pineapple along with cut grass. A little bit of bready malt is buried underneath but the citrus hops totally dominate.
Flavor is a hop wallop from the get go. Very juicy and heavy on pineapple, mango, and orange. Some cut grass sneaks in but takes a back seat to the tropical fruit. Bitterness is moderate to high and is long lasting. There is some sweetness here but it is nicely balanced by the bitterness. Not much malt flavor, maybe some bread, with a nice soft wheat mouthfeel.
Overall, a really good beer and probably my favorite so far from Lagunitas. Awesome example of the style and dangerously drinkable with the 7.5% completely hidden. One to pick up whenever possible.

I think this is actually an American Pale Wheat Ale. Normally, a Wheat ale is not a go-to beer for me, but this one is an exception. I drank one of these without knowing it was a wheat beer, I thought it was an unusual but exceptional I.P.A.. Whatever it is, it’s really good. It has some nice yeast esters in the smell and flavor. It has a variety of fruity flavors and a nice malt backbone: quite unique. Good on ya, LaGunitas.

On tap @CBC13. Clear light amber with white head. Aroma of bread, caramel, citrus, perfume and pine. Taste follows with same notes and finishes with a nice bitterness.

Delicious, but a little for me to really put my finger on what I specifically liked about it. Just an all around great ale.

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ericular (227) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Pours a clear gold with medium white head and decent lacing. Aroma is juicy orange peel dominating with other citrus - apricot, mango, grapefruit - and pine in the background. This smells really great. Taste is a second or two of sweet malts and citrus hops, then into a moderate hop bitterness - a bit more resiny pine here. Bitterness fades in the aftertaste, letting a little sweetness of the malt come through, but this is still a hop-forward brew. Really tasty overall. My kind of summer beer.

Bottle. Clear yellow/orange with a medium sized good lacing white head. Bread, biscuit and caramel in the aroma along with citrus and pine. Taste is light/medium sweet and bitter. Pretty crisp and long lasting fresh mouthfeel ending in a light bitter and dry finish. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation.
