Way smooth and silky with a nice wheaty-esque-ish-ness. Just the little sumpin’ sumpin’ we all need to kick Summer into full swing! Ingredients: Hops, Malt, Hops, Hops, Yeast, Hops, Water, and Hops.

INFORMATION: 12oz bottle with no freshness date. I know that Lagunitas usually puts a code on the bottle from which you can determine what day of the year that it was brewed, but there is no such code here. This bottle is from this Spring’s batch, so it’s pretty fresh. 64 IBUs....7.5% ABV.

APPEARANCE: Pours a pale yellow-orange color with a good two fingers worth of off-white colored head floating on top. Plenty of carbonation bubbles visible within the glass. Pretty good clarity for a wheat beer. Impressive lacing sticking to the inside of the glass with each sip.

NOSE: Orange, lemon, mango, juicy fruit gum, musk melon! This beer is fruiTy with a capital T! Behind the wall of citrus lies subtle hints of this being a wheat beer.

TASTE: Good light wheat flavor up front, but it’s short lived. Fruity flavors come rushing in just as the aroma suggest. There’s a touch of hop bitterness towards the middle, but this beer is big on the citrus, and not so much on the bitterness. The flavor of the wheat shows itself again towards the back end. Soft fruity finish begs for you to take another sip.

MOUTHFEEL: Medium bodied with a soft carbonation.

OVERALL: The best of the best where wheat beers are concerned.

Morey’s Bottom Line: The first time that I had this, I was floored. I’ve had it several times since, and nothing’s changed. If you see this, by all means....grab a six pack!

Theory at the table is that I bought the beer cuz of the label. I’d argue it’s all about the research. A deep orange marmalade in the glass with a somewhat disappointing razor thin slice of foam on top. A decent, highly drinkable IPA. Starts with a watery citrus, slides into leafy hops in the middle & finishes with a moderate bitterness. Also slight notes of weak sweat tea & coniferous. Drank this way too quickly for a 7.5% brew.

So the aroma is the kinda that BO / cat piss hop note with some grapefruit and other citrus. Slightly sweet with really bringing out that citrus in the flavor. Solid pale wheat.

Bottle. Pours bright gold with a high, pillowy, sticky, lacy, off-white head. Nose is apple, stone fruit, lavender, lime, grapefruit, cut grass, and rosemary. Sweet up front, with a balanced hops bitterness -- carries the IBUs quite well. Good flavor, though I might like a little more depth to it; it’s a little simplistic. Finish is medium, sweet, and floral. Good.

12oz pour to pint glass. Two finger thick white head dissipated quickly with extensive lacing. Smells of tropical fruits mango and pineapple with a hint of pine. Brilliant clear golden color. Tangy and sweet flavors of tropical fruits and citrus mingle with a sweet malty backbone. Very light and refreshing especially to be 7.5 ABV finishes dry and clean. Cheers!

The beer poured a deep clear gold. Medium sized white head. Aroma had fruitiness, citrus and some malts. Flavor was the same fruitiness, citrus, malts. Aftertaste had grapefruit and a bitterness. A decent hoppy pale ale.
