Bottled. Poured clear, bright, slightly orangey-golden with a creamy, well-retained cap of white head. The aroma picked up a lovely array of hoppage (floral, grapefruit, and juicy lighter fruits) over a candied caramel base.. excellent stuff going on here! The flavor had sweet caramel and pale malts at the core, again with ample hoppage surrounding in the form of oranges and floral character.. spicy and a touch warm on the back-end with a lenghty, tasty finish. Medium-bodied with ideal moderate carbonation on the palate.. hops were spicy and fresh, and the refreshing finish left me wanting more. Loved it!

The beer is a relatively pale, bright golden liquid with a good white head that sticks around for quite awhile. The nose has a strong pine/grapefruit aroma. It’s a bit like a Sierra Nevada Torpedo mixed with a San Diego-style IPA. I always find hop bill descriptions hard; it’s a fairly unique flavor with many variations. At any rate, this beer is aggressively hopped. It has a good level of bitterness. The grain does not get in the way of the hops all that much. I believe that there’s wheat in there, but it’s not a strong presence, just background noise at best. So, why not throw some wheat in your IPA? I’m not complaining.

Bomber into snifter. Orange amber pour with a bit of airy off-white head. Citrusy and floral hop aroma but not a hop bomb. Good hop notes in the flavor but mostly dominated by a caramel sweetness with a touch of alcohol from the abv. Kind of dry finish with a strange aftertaste but another enjoyable offering from Lagunitas.

Little Sumpin’ sumpin’ ale--Limited Release 2009--12 oz. Bottle. 7.30% ABV-64.2 IBU’s. (3.75 / 5.0) IPA--Imperial? Lacy dense white head. Clear bright soft gold color. Creamy floral hop soft malt front. Cloying creamy mellow sweet malty caramel sourdough mild fruit body. Smooth hot hop spice cloying bitter malt end. Tasty & smooth, but Odd malt notes like a cream ale? Sampled 11/5/2009. 6-Pack--$9.29

(Sample Date: 6/3/2009 Source:Capital Ale House - Downtown) Cask Ale. Citrusy floral hop aroma. Cloudy orange golden with small white head. Citrusy floral hop flavor over moderately grainy caramel malt. Finish is dry and bitter.

Clear deep gold pour. Flavor and aroma of light malt and soapy, citrus peel hops. Pretty tasty!

355 ml bottle. Clear amber. Thick fluffy white head that clings to the glass. Nice floral and caramelly aroma. Notes of lemon. Body is surprisingly thin and I would suspect sugars were used to dry out its body. Nicely balanced with caramel and hops. The finish is light and not really bitter. The hops do not shine through as much as one would expect. Still this is a nice and very drinkable beer. It does not really match the average IPA though, for many reasons.

Draft. Pours slightly hazy orange with a relatively thin, creamy white head. Aroma of honey, raisins, lemon zest, hops, and a slight touch of pine. Medium, simple body with a touch of sweetness in the finish. Good IPA.
