12oz bottle. Pours a clear light amber with a healthy white head. Big bread aroma with watermelon notes. Flavor not as prominent as the aroma, well balanced bitter, salt and sweet carried by a full but not heavy body. Overall I do like this beer - not as brash as many IPAs, but not lacking in character.

Draft to plastic cup. Hops, spruce, grapefruit. Really light amber with a thin creamy white head. Taste is grapefruit, spruce, and juniper.

A: modest, floral aroma. Pleasant but not very strong. A: F: hard to put words on this. Hops dominate the flavor, with modest bitterness. Some sweetness comes through from the wheat but not much. M: medium, lowish carb. O: didnt really know what to expect. Its more ipa than wheat. Sort of like a session ipa with more body, and a balance more towards sweet. Enjoyable but not something id seek out.

This was my first beer from Lagunitas, and while I've since tried a few more, this is one of my favorites. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from The Drink Store, Dublin. Pours clear golden with a big creamy white head. Aroma of grapefruit and sweet malts, marmelade and lemon. Taste is crisp moderate fruity hops all the way, underneath is a rather sweet malty body, almost too sweet for my likings.

I poured it from the bottle. It pours a cloudy copper color with a decent head and lacing. The aroma was a little skunky with hints of floral hops and wheat. The taste was hoppy with some bread, spice, and mild citrus hints. This was pretty good.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. The aroma is a sweet, thick caramel candy with background notes of wheat, and citrus (leaning more sugary marmalade). It pours clear and oily with a gold hue and a white, dense soap head that leaves a light, messy lace and has a moderate messy retention. The taste is a medium high sweet with a medium bitter supporting note. The texture is smooth and oily with a soft foam carbonation and a medium body. The flavor profile is primarily caramel with a bitter citrus and wheat touch. It finishes with a clove and bittersweet citrus zest that leaves a mostly clean and lightly astringent aftertaste with mellow remnants of clove and a mild citrus with a slight cloying caramel sugar and a late bread note.

Bottle. Strong grapefruit aroma and flavor. Hops are overpowering, contrary to what some have said here. This is OK but the strong bitterness lowers the rating. Don’t get me wrong: I like bitter beer. Just not so bitter that everything else is blocked out.

stravale (2525) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - AUG 16, 2015
Bottle from O’Brien’s, Athlone [140815]
Light blonde, slight haze, frothy fluffy white head, some lacing
Aroma of sweet citrus, canned grapefruit, some tropical fruits, dab of mango, sweet juicy fruits, mandarin orange, good nose
Taste of sweet fruits, sweet fruity pale malts, some piney hops, soft tropical fruits, good flavour, but getting some alcohol
Palate - Medium cab and body, quite oily, fairly sweet, fairly noticeable alcohol. Finish of fairly bitter zest hop, again a touch of booze
Overall - Nice beer, good fruits, maybe the hops have diminished a bit exposing the alcohol, but this is far better than the over malty IPA

It pours golden and clear with a full white head. It has citrus aroma and spruce. It has citrus flavors with floral, every hoppy and a quality bitter tap on the palate.
