3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not nearly as good as their Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’, I had this with no previous knowledge of what to expect. Fermenting fruits in the cellar ofr aroma, and some grassy, grapefruit bitterness on the flavour. OK, but not my choice for a Belgian Ale.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle to DFH IPA glass
A - Pours a hazy amber/honey color with 1 finger of frothy off-white head. Good but average lacing.
S - Earthy grains, herbal hops, bright pineapple, apple, woody, dirty grapefruit, spicy phenols come out more as it warms.
T - Grapefruit jumps right out, sweet pale malt, pineapple, white pepper, pears, a second wave of grassy/herbal hops flood in with notes of wood. Semi chalky bitterness runs into the finish. Finishes dry and earthy with white pepper and grapefruit/tropical notes.
M - Medium body, lush feel, moderate soft carbonation, dry earthy finish.
Interesting beer for sure. Nice bitterness and very complex. The dirty citrus/tropical fruit works well against the sweet pale malt. I bought a sixer of this and they got better and better. This is one to seek out.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Purchased at Charlestown Wine & Spirits RI, 12oz bottle. Pours a cloud amber with a small white head quick to dissipate. Smells strongly of Belgian yeast with some fruit flavors like orange and grapefruit mixed it. Taste strongly of the Belgian yeast but the hops and wheat malt actually mix quite well and all together do a good job of covering the strong Abv. Light bodied with plenty of carbonation. Belgian flavor stands out which I’m not a fan of but this is certainly a good beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hoppy fruity yeasty aroma. Has the Belgian yeast aroma smells. Almost a mix of ipa and saison by aroma. Some fruity yeasty flavors as well but with a bitter hoppy finish. A bit different, but enjoyable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 30, 2014 12oz bottle poured into a stemmed tulip glass. Smells doughy, but sweet - oatmeal raisin cookies were the first thing that came to mind. Orange peel is the dominant scent, but some grape (maybe I just had cookies stuck in my head?), as well as grassy, floral notes. It pours a hazy pale amber (on the yellow side of amber) with a thick white head that could easily be scooped out with a spoon. A medium heavy dose of bitter and sour hit the tongue initially with a healthy sweetness washing over the mouth. Some more of the yeast aroma comes out at first sipping as well as a whiff of alcohol. The taste is predominantly hops, but there is some sweetness to it in the form of grapes and/or sour cherries (maybe both?). There’s a rye-spiciness too, which very well could just be the hops. The relatively dry, medium body beer doesn’t technically finish clean, but it’s surprisingly refreshing (almost minty) considering how strong the initial flavors come on. There’s a prevalent rye flavor in the finish. A nice puffy, cloud-like lacing remains on the empty glass.
