4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle...beautiful orange pour with a lacy white head. Big lemon, orange flavors mingle with earthy conifer and bready yeast. Big and complex, yet easily drinkable...I would reach for one of these past lots of IPAs,

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft @ Crispyís. Doughy malts abound with little hops to get in their way. The Belgian characteristics add clove and spice notes. Alcohol is evident but not quite overpowering.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From the bottle, the brew poured brassy orange and bright with about an inch thick blanket of bright white foam, settling fairly quickly with no real lace. Barnyard aromas with some lemon, orange, caramel. Some banana, clove, and alcohol emerge as it warms. The flavor is crazy. Rich and earthy bready taste with sharp bitterness and sweet floral accents. The finish lingers a bit with a honey or molasses sweet/spicy character. I like it. Itís sort of like a Dunkelweiss took a shot of whiskey with a Belgian trippel. Warm and bready.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This poured a dark golden color with a white head. The aroma contains some citrus and a bit of wildness with some yeasty notes. The flavor is more bitter than sour with citrus taking over. There are some belgian yeasty and sourness in there as well. Iím not a huge fans of belgian IPAs but seems more IPA to me. Overall a good one!

Going over the top with Lil Sumpin. Best value on the shelf, bar none. Rafts of bright strong hop flavor with complex developing palate that goes on forever, with a golden color and nice head - - this is the yellow brick road incarnate. What the delightful hops do atop the dappling yeast character is vast and wonderful. It reminds me of the superb Duvel Triple Hop, but is so integrated and natural - - a quintessential, essential brew that at this price could be a daily luxury, and with all that style and grace, it is, like, really sumpiní.

Surprised at how good this was at the 2013 OBF in Joplin. Wild without overwhelming the IPA elements. Restrained sourness. Well-balanced.

Prune, chocolate, grass, malt on the nose. Smells like a good Belgian should.
Vibrant coppery yellow/gold. clear.
Nice balance up front with chocolatey, piney hops, orange and grapefruit zest, apricot and prune. Two negligible moments of imperfection: a breeze of strong acidity in the mid palate and the alcohol flavor on the back palate. Quickly turns into a great spicy aftertaste with ginger and nutmeg.
