Another Big Sister of the Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale…. Loads of Malted Wheat for a Curious Malt Foundation and a Light Color, But Our Belgian Yeast Leaves a Huge Flavor and Complexishness.

Pours an apricot color with a dense beige head that retains exceptionally well and leaves dense layers of lacing. The aroma is very strong Amarillo hops with Belgian yeast, and a hint of caramel malt. The flavor is very sweet and candy-like, with strong hops and yeast on the finish. It seems like every craft brewer is making a Belgian ipa lately. This is only one I’ve had so far that has enough hops and malt to keep the yeast in the middle to background. Medium bodied with prickly carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff.

Bottle. 25.4 oz. Split with Vin. Pours a bright reddish-orange with an off-white, frothed head. Aroma of peaches, grapes, California dry-hops, raisin bread, and hints of sweet malts and cranberries. Medium to fuller bodied with a tight, slightly sticky, evenly carbonated palate. Finishes with a moderately bitter, yet juicy splash. Decent Belgian ale. Honestly, I excpected this to be a sour from a cursory glance at the label, but it tasted more like a double IPA doesed with Beglian yeast. Overall, not bad.

Delicious. Draught. Hazy dark orange with thick white head. Floral and peach aroma, very pleasant. Full body, with spicy edge to the caramel. Spicy finish, all over the tongue. Worth drinking again.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2010 Bottle at Bodega Brew Pub in La Crosse. This brew pours a clear orange color with a medium white soap-bubbly head that recedes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet toasted malt and hops. Medium body with floral hops, earthy malt and yeast flavors. The finish is fruity with a lingering yeast and malt aftertaste. Solid brew throughout.

9/24/10. Bomber. Hazy orange pour with a thick eggshell head that lasts and laces a ton. Nice IPA aromas with citrus fruit, a little cat pee, big fruit, etc, all with a spicy subtle funk undertone - very nice. The flavor is big fruity hops with more pronounced spicy funk, but ebbs a bit on the sweet side. Aside from that, quite nice.

Tap @ Brass Tap. Light orangeish golden body with a medium off white head. Very fruity, hoppy nose, big notes of orange and pine, lighter notes of apricot and peach. Medium body with lively carbonation and a sticky mouth feel. Flavor is much like the nose, moderately sweet with a solid amount of bitterness. Loads of citrus and earthy notes of pine and grass, it was only at the very end when it had warmed completely that i started to pick up very soft spicy yeast notes.

The last beer of a long night on the town in san fran that I remember drinking. Tap @ the rogue ale house. Pours a lightly hazed deep gold with a bubbly white head. Nose was both hoppy and a little funky with aromas of citrus and a touch of Belgian yeast. One of the better beers I’ve had on this trip.

pours a vibrant orange with white lacing. he aroma is pungent and full of citrus, earthiness and pine...but surprisingly a little stale. The flavor is irus, hops, pine and dirt...fundamental and delicious. A miniscual amount of belgian sweetness and funk shines through with some booze.
