Another Big Sister of the Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale…. Loads of Malted Wheat for a Curious Malt Foundation and a Light Color, But Our Belgian Yeast Leaves a Huge Flavor and Complexishness.

Pale straw with an aroma of sweet, candi sugars and American hops. Exceptionally quaffable, stone fruity and quite a surprise! Like a happy Westmalle (same yeast, apparently).

The nose is floral with peach, plum, and some farmhouse aromas. The taste starts with sweetness at first and hits tongue with citrus, peach, yeasts, malts and alcohol. Large spice backbone, with grassy yeast. The finish is bread-like and faintly sour. Overall - Pretty tasty and flavorful. It seems to want to fit in the saison family to me

22 oz bomber from Tournament. Dark golden pour with a big fluffy white head. Massive hops aroma, citrus notes, especially orange peel. Thick chewy mouthfeel, sweet hoppy flavor with a slightly bitter bite to the finish.

22 oz bottle. A quite pretty and nicely carbonated pour with a cloud-like thick milky white head, sticky clumps of lacing and bright, yet slightly hazy golden orange appearance. The hops in the aroma are pretty distinct Lagunitas style with hazy citrus and melon fruit, and resiny pine. The wheat and Belgian yeast do add some interesting notes of light peppery bread, caramel cookie, and a light tart fruitiness. Some creamy qualities start in the feel, but give way to a rather lively and fruity bitterness. Flavor notes clump together a bit (similarly to how I describe the Extra), but the overall product is interestingly tasty. Fruity Belgian esters, caramel, fresh biscuit to start. This immediately gives way to highly bitter, sticky finish with pine leafs, heavy sweet citrus, and earth. I enjoyed this one. Overall, probably right on par with its brother, with a bonus point for originality.

Real nice. Pours yellow orange bit white head. Aroma of orange, spicy honey wheat. Pretty big medium body, honey, spicy wheat and lemon with a bittering dry finish.

Poured from 12oz bottle, orange with light lacing. Light citrus nose, slightly cloudy. Bitter with lightness.

Bomber bottle. Aroma is hoppy. The appearance is a nice copper with some creamy, white head. The taste hops over some good malt with that lagunitas dankness. The palate is fine. Overall, good beer, and will buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a pillowy white head. The aroma is of floral hops, much like an IPA. Initial flavor is mildly sweet with some flowery hops but quickly moves to a bitter finish. Too bitter for my tastes.

Pours a golden orange color with frothy off white head. Heavy lacing. Aroma of citrus hops and pineapple. Taste is floral and pine hops. Tropical fruit flavor throughout. Hops are balanced out with the wheat and yeast. Nice bitter sweet finish.

The taste was just ok, but that’s not usually why one buys an 8.8%, or at least that’s not why I did. Was not aware that Belgium was known for its malt liquor. Be careful this stuff kicks back, keep bail money handy.
