3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 5000 (4967) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - APR 28, 2013
Bottle:   Fireweed like honey in color, fairly clear and bright, lively carbonation, large rocky off-white head,
steady lacing.   Strong peppery shrubby aroma, a little yeasty and bready.   Bright shrubby floral flavors up front,
very yeasty but not bready/heavy.   Some alcohol notes, fairly warming.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   A
slight astringency on the backside, warmth, strong peppery/shrubby notes.   This is a little bit of an odd duck, but one
that I keep trying to get a handle on it.   Enjoyable, and certainly different.

Bottle - Orange, grains and yeast. Clear gold with a light bubbly head. Grapefruit and yeast are quite prominent and the finish is quite bitter. Not a big fan of the Belgian IPA styles.

Bottle. Poured golden with billowing white head. Strong nose of hops, pine, and a dash of citrus. Medium bodied, nice and creamy. Wasn’t really taken with it at first, but once the flavours started coming out it grew on me.

Poured this beer from a regular-sized bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a semi-cloudy amber-straw color with a good-sized foamy, and touch creamy, white head with good retention, and very good cling and lacing. The aroma featured citrus and pine hops blended with yeast along with some candy and sugar notes, and some touches of grass, spice, and floral components. The taste had a good citrus and pine character which was mostly bitter, but had some light sweetness, and a grainy bitter aspect too. It was a very lively and fizzy beer with good carbonation and a fairly full mouthfeel, though it was a touch dry and thin.

Golden in appearance with a thin off white head which retains well. Nose comprises Belgian yeast esters, pineapple and other tropical fruit tones. Tastes of bitter grapefruit, Belgian yeasts, orange pith, spice, a little pine, light caramel malt. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, smooth drinking, bitter finish. Enjoyable stuff!
