4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz. bottle. Just wrapped up making a big pot of chili, which for me takes as long as a brew day. And hereís this, which I found at the new Lemon Tree across the tracks from me Thursday! Pours a clean bright pilsener color with a touch of rose, and a small but stately procession of bubbles, to an angel-food cake type head. Smell brings up a lot of complexity, some Amarillo hop, I thought, and spicy Belgian yeast at work (the label says Westmalle: boy, havenít one in a while). Some pepper, coriander, a bit of horse blanket, all very enticing. Taste is, well, sublime. Hard to describe, hard to compare it to any beer I remember: itís its own unique entity. Again, big American hops to the fore, but plenty of spiciness that may be the yeast, may be some English and German hops to boot, Just no added spices, itís all in the chemistry. Sticky malts bear glad tidings of warm alcohol (my label says 8.85% to0, not 7.8%). Maybe itís just my mood, relaxing after a busy day of chili cooking and writing, or my cold clearing up so I can appreciate beer again, but this one hits the spot absolutely. My ratings on Lagunitas beers run a wide range, but I like the chances they take when it results in something fab like this!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours clear light amber, very thin white head. Aroma is fruity/floral hinting of Belgian heritage. Taste is smooth balanced ale, not bitter, definitely like a saison. Good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Orange pour with a ton of sticky foamy head. Draft at beer bistro. Not quite a wild, it's like regular sumpin with a fruitier taste. Very good. Fruity hoppy and happiness

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Purchased from town earlier today. $10.99 for the pack. To over white wine glass, it pours an effervescent web color orange with which a snowy white head 1Ĺ fingers in length stood. Aromas of cilantro, einkorn wheat, baby spinach, sorrel, stale banana bread, Belgian yeast, sawdust, American hops, marsh grass, spent grain, bubblegum, and dreid lavender. Tastes the same with the addition of sourdough, sweet basil, white rice, wet cardboard, tropical fruit, and sweat. I like that the Belgian yeast had been affectively complimented because of its powerful mysteriousness experienced at the tip of mid-palate section. This is the flavor you could almost put your finger on, but, as most cases go, it simply hadnít been large and obnoxious enough to have remembered anything more than it being a whimsical sidenote. Barely there, and itís nice.

Another Big Sister of the Little Sumpiní Sumpiní AleÖ. Loads of Malted Wheat for a Curious Malt Foundation and a Light Color, But Our Belgian Yeast Leaves a Huge Flavor and Complexishness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Apricot in hue, with a soft haze and a sticky, soapy white top layer. Big hop character in the nose -- grass, lemon zest, flowers -- backed up by earthy honey, pear and wheat bread. The fruity Belgian yeast notes are more prominent in the flavor, but so is the pithy lemon hop character, and the follow-up of musty honey. An interesting blend, for sure. Soft, pillowy body, silky bubbles.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A lot going on in this IPA. First, it has fantastic clarity for an ale and big fluffy white head. Huge citrus in the nose, but very much a Belgian yeast flavor with wheat notes. Lagunitas always produces quality beers. Cheers!

Definitely my favorite in the Little Sumpiní series. Beautiful pour with a cloudy pillowy head that stays around forever. Grapefruit flavors with a splash of honey
