Another Big Sister of the Little Sumpiní Sumpiní AleÖ. Loads of Malted Wheat for a Curious Malt Foundation and a Light Color, But Our Belgian Yeast Leaves a Huge Flavor and Complexishness.

12 ounce bottle poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint glass. Color is golden, most likely a byproduct of the wheat in the recipe. Appearance is somewhat cloudy, this beer may have been bottle conditioned. Aroma is of bready yeast, with pineapple, grapefruit, and other citrus fruit shining through. With a name like Wild, you would expect this to be somewhat sour, but it really isnít. Instead this feels more like a heavily-hopped Beligian Tripel or Belgian Golden Strong. Not that thatís a bad thing. Trademark Lagunitas malt sweentess shines from start to finish, which helps to mask the size of this beer - 9%+ ABV. Thereís a slightly minerally or metallic thing going on in the finish that I wish wasnít there, but overall this is another nicely crafted beer from a brewery that clearly knows what it is doing.

Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into a shaker glass. Light amber color with a generous white frothy head. Aroma is a strong dose of resinous hops with some spiciness from the Belgian yeast in the background. Flavor is lightly sweet and has some lighter malt notes that transition into some resinous hop notes and peppery spice towards the finish. Medium bodied and pretty smooth for the ABV. Overall this is quite good, just a little more mild mannered than I remember.

Poured from a bottle into a pint Lagunias glass deep golden with a nice white head. Aroma says Belgium pine trees. Flavor is sweet bitterness quite delicious. A seasonal I seek out like a moth to a flame. Like. A lot.

Pours a lightly hazed golden with rocky egg shell head. Aromaís are wheat, hay, yeast, dough, peppery hops, minor lemon citrus and just a hint of funk. Taste is rich and spicy with a lingering barnyard funk. Mouthfeel is edgy and spicy up front then full-bodied on the finish. Overall solid but not game-changing.

Bottle. Sweet malty, earthy citrus hops, and Belgian yeast aroma. Clear brassy gold with a large white head. Musty grassy citrus hops, Belgian yeast, citrus peel, and sweet malty flavor. Medium body, moderate carbonation.

Pours a hazy and deep dark red. Smells ridiculously resinous and sweet, almost like a candied hop aroma. Dark bitter cherry, with a hint of chocolate , dankness and a dry woody finish. The bitterness lingers for a while. Awesome red IPA!

Pour of gold and good white frothy head. Nice citrus nose with hints of Belgian yeast. Hops are punchy up front, but nice balance of malt with that yeast on the finish.

12 oz bottle from Johnís Marketplace in Portland, OR. Aroma is citrusy, grassy, and fruity, with hints of banana, lime, and licorice. Mouthfeel and taste begins creamy and sweet, and finishes sweet, bitter and slightly tangy/sour. I liked the balance between the maltiness and hoppiness, and also how the malt and hops went a long way toward smoothing out the Belgian yeast flavor. I didnít particularly care for the tangy finish, but this is still an excellent beer!

Poured from a 12. Has a grassy, barnyard, dankish aroma to it. Flavor is crisp, but finishes creamy. Definitely has a strong bitterness to it like the pith of an orange peel.
