4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
The beer is tangerine orange color with a deep cream-colored head. Excelllent lacing and retention. The bear is slightly cloudy.
The aroma is nicely hoppy; with a orange peel dominating. The yeast and malt aromas are muted with the yeast slightly more noticeable than the malt. A hint of clove adds some complexity to the hop character.
The beer is lightly sweet with an ample citrusy hop fruitiness up front. But the complexity of this beer is a wonder. As the palate settles, I find juicy fruit bubble gum and bread. The finish has just a hint of clove and other spices.
Body is bordering on heavy. Texture is sticky and oily.
This beer is immensely drinkable. The complexity of the finish brings me back to the glass again and again. Although the texture is substantial, it is in no way overbearing. The beer reminds me of the Stone Begi-Calique with a reduced yeast profile. I liked that beer quite a bit as well, if I remember correctly. This beer is excellent. It combines two of my favorite styles: American IPA and Strong Belgian ales. Good job Lagunitas.

mmm.. Aroma is peach candy and brown sugar. There is a pleasant basement-funk aroma also. The first cold sip is bitter with nice notes of citrus. It is very dry and has hints of hop flavors: pine cones, citrus, fresh cut grass. It is sweet, but very dry and earthy. Very nice complex beer on a Sunday afternoon.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
P: A vivacious beautiful clear golden hue graced with a bountiful milky cap of off white tinted head. Great retention with thick intricate lacing. Reminds me of lace topped stockings that start the excitement just before getting to the sweet nectar.
S: Soapy citrus hop oils, lemon grass, grains of paradise, fresh cracked grain, pilsner malt and fragrant dry Belgian yeast.
T/M: Big time yeast strain. Dry and citrusy with a slight sting of grain alcohol in the back. Orange rind, grapefruit, peppery spice and sweet tarts. Medium body with delicate carbonation and a super dry finish of lingering yeast.
O: This is money! Nice simplicity with the citrus hops and a balanced yeast strain that just explodes in greatness. Not overly complex but well blended flavor profiles create a delicious BIPA that I would purchase frequently. Cheers!

Poured by Ryan on a tour of the Lagunitas Brewery. From notes, July 30, 2012.
A: Delightful floral/citrus hops. Plenty of hops in here. Sweet light malt.
A: Pours a very nice deep golden color with about two fingers almost white head.
T: Sweet lemon citrus notes, caramel, molasses biscuity malt backbone. Pine-y crisp finish. Very bright colors, definitely a summer brew. Even a hint of alcohol heat. Some peppery notes in there too. More pale ale than wheat.
P: Clean, crisp, good carbonation and medium body, finished razor sharp.
O: Nice hybrid style here; very refreshing.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Purchased at my local Vas Foremost in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home after doing some song writing while having NFL Football on in the background. Appearance is a bright, slightly clear gold with a moderate white head that laces to the glass. Aroma is rich in spice, Belgian ale yeast, light bready malt, light sweetness, very nice. Taste goes down easy for a sub 9% brew, smooth consistency, light spice in the back, bit of lemon as well. Good stuff.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours a clear gold with a white head. Taste belgian yeast, little hoppy, fruity. I thought this was good. I could drink this again.

Not sure why this is classified as a belgian, but tasty all the same! I don’t know about anyone else, but i get a sort of grilled pineapple-y-ness from this up front. Finishes nicely, with a pale or ipa hoppiness. Mouthfeel is somewhat lacking, but I could drink quite a bit of this brew.
